Goodbye was a really good song for Jessica's voice. It showcased her vocals nicely. She's definitely has the most control over the high notes, but the only critique I can give is she can get real airy up there. For the most part, I like Jessica's voice when it's not too high up there. Tbh, I vocally for SNSD I didn't notice an absense of Jessica's voice except at random times, mainly harmonies or group choruses (Sign, Paradise). She adds something distinct to the whole sound.
IA I always thought her voice kinda.. picked genres too. I really hoped for an electropopsica debut cuz her voice works so well with EDM/house music but an RnB song just doesn't work for it. I always thought RnB/soul is a thing that works well with voices on the lower register.
Idk her ballads are a really big hits or misses for me. So far the only ballad I loved from her on her own was Someday (in Romantic Fantasy) but I really hated Gravity. I'm also willing to be proved wrong with her RnB/Soul capability but I really really hope she picks the right genre for her voice because otherwise imo if this does well on the charts I'll just assume it'll just be because of her ex-snsd member status/the friction and publicity that it created.
But irregardless... I'm ready to be slayed by perfect visuals. This mv looks like a treat and her logomark looks very sassy and is a huge upgrade from her tracklisting visuals.
i hope that snippet isn't the actual song. it sounds kind of corny. the mv looks like it could be interesting and i'm looking forward to the choreo though. and lol @ irene's dancing looking like half-assed vogueing or something
She looks gorgeous and the mv seems aesthetically promising. Not sure about the audio but it's a 3 second snippet so I'll reserve judgement till I hear the whole thing.
Snippets of songs in teasers are always really awkward, this line would probably have a whole instrumental around in the end... not too worried about that yet. Looks higher budget than what I was dreading, pfiou! I want her to do well. Looking at Lumpens previous work, this will look good
