Hwanhee hated SM Town?

On the episode of "Strong Heart" that aired on the 28th, Fly To The Sky's Hwanhee, began to complain about the previous company Fly To The Sky was under, SM Entertainment.

Hwanhee started off his complaint saying "Lee Soo Man really liked styles that H.O.T and Shinhwa would sport." Because Lee Soo Man loved the funky and crazy hairstyles back in the days, he got Hwanhee and Brian to try over 10 different hairstyles to see which fitted best. Finally the one decided was the 'ramyun hair' the duo sported in their debut album. After revealing a picture of the duo back in the days, the studio burst with laughter. Hwanhee also included, "But my hair wasn't as bad as Brian's. Brian had the hair of a bride at a wedding."

Not only did Hwanhee complain about their outer appearances but he also complained about the 'SM Town' project, where the artists under SM would collaborate to release a summer/winter album. The reason why Hwanhee disliked "SM Town" was because Fly To The Sky was an R&B duo that had a mature and calm atmosphere to them but every summer/winter they would make the guys join the younger stars and act cute. Brian agreed saying, "Charisma is what makes Hiphop R&B what it is."

Meanwhile Leeteuk of Super Junior who is currently under SM pretended as if he was making a call to Lee Soo Man and the R&B duo quickly stated, "If it wasn't for Lee Soo Man, we wouldn't be where we are today" and "He is like a father to us".

Also Yoona and Tiffany of SNSD who were also part of the cast said, "It was our dream to do SM Town when we first debuted".

I guess different generations of stars think differently. Although Fly To The Sky isn't under SM anymore, it's great to see some old "SM Town" love.

ngl, i miss the old smtown. when boa was still active in korea, dbsk/csjh/super junior were still the hoobae. i got into kpop because of the smtown winter album in 2003, lol.

not that i don't like smtown now-- i like snsd, shinee, and f(x), but i just miss the old times.

Ah, I guess it makes sense, especially with SM Town collaboration songs often being all bubblegum-ish. R&B styles really don't fit well with all that.

I love SM Town, and while I'm a huge fan of DBSK and The Grace, and I don't really like them not being active right now..



stuff like this makes SM Town impossible for me not to love.

I think I'm not alone here when I say that
EVERYTHING IN SMTOWN PRE-SUMMER '07 WAS THE GREATEST THING IN THE WORLD.

When literally everyone was active and loved, when SuJu were the cracktastic hoobae, WHEN BoA ACTUALLY KNEW EVERYBODY THERE LOL, when DBSK (♥) were still young and the whole 'Asia status' thing wasn't quite attributed to them yet, BUT THEY WERE STILL LOVELY OKAY.

...but it was a terrible video. :S It was just clips of everyone else's concerts and photos we'd already seen. They should have done something properly, like a proper video. It's understandable why, but it seemed like SM made absolutely no effort at all with it. >.

I love how there are so many comments bashing on LSM here when he isn't even CEO anymore, therefore not 'in charge of their payroll'. A lot of people may not like LSM, but don't you notice in most of the artists who were there when he was CEO all thank him in their speeches? I honestly think the days when LSM was in charge was the best. Like someone else said, everyone was active and loved. As much as I love SNSD, Shinee, and F(x), I desperately want BoA and CSJH back in the korean music scene T__T I want the two times a year SMTOWN albums back, even if they do have to act all cutesy. So please, SM Entertainment [CEO Kim Youngmin?] , all I want for christmas this year is to have all my favorite artists under your company back, happy and together. Does it take that much time, money, and effort to actually treat all of your artists well? Please and thank you, Jessica.

You know what. Scratch what I said about LSM not being in charge anymore. I just realized he's still director/producer. So I'm not entirely sure if he's still in charge. But I do still think everyone shifts their complaints about SME onto LSM, when he's not the only one who should be blamed. Does anyone get my point?
