Arena tour: 16.61 billion won (170k+ attendees; sixteen concerts)
Osaka Kyocera Dome: 9.34 billion won (70k+ attendees; two concerts)
Tokyo Tokyo Dome: 11.41 billion won (105k+ attendees; two concerts)
Taemin's solo album: 1.78 billion won
Total earnings including Japanese sales/goods, downloads, etc: more than 40 billion won.
The ongoing tour began on January 30th and the main leg will end on April 24th. The sixteen concerts have been held in eight different cities throughout Japan. They will be performing at Osaka Kyocera Dome for the first time on May 14th for two days, and return to Tokyo Dome for the second time on May 18th, also for two days. Along with this, SHINee will also be releasing their thirteenth Japanese single, "Because of You", on May 18th. It's also been confirmed by both Minho and Taemin that SHINee will be making a Korean comeback before the year ends. (So, more $$$$$$ basically.)

Pann: #1 earnings of SM in the first half of 2016 is SHINee.
1. [+135, -1] They're quietly strong.
2. [+115, -2] They're the top idol group of pretty boys.
3. [+110, -1] Last year, they did Tokyo Dome for 2 days but still earned more than 25 billion won. Amazing.
4. [+61, -0] They get called a has-been on Pann but this is the reality.
5. [+58, -0] They've been around for 9 years but they're still doing well. There are other groups that are lasting longer but SHINee members aren't that old yet. SHINee has potentials to last really long. The maknae is only 23.
6. [+58, -0] I thought there aren't that many SHINee fans around me, but they turned out to be hiding... A lot of them cosplay as non-fans.
7. [+52, -0] They're GODinee in reality.
8. [+49, -0] They're quietly strong indeed. I barely see Shawols on Pann so I thought SHINee doesn't have many fans. I didn't expect them to be strong like this. I'm viewing SHINee differently.
9. [+47, -0] I thought I was the only Shawol in my school but there was one or two in every class... But all of them cosplay as non-fans. ㅋㅋㅋ
10. [+41, -0] SHINee is quietly strong. But what's pitiful is that they're always in Japan when they're Korean artists... Since debut, they've done like 100 concerts but 90 of them were held in Japan.

bonus info: it was confirmed a few days ago that tvxq, super junior and shinee brought in the most money for sm last year. shinee brought in 25.4 billion won so they've already surpassed what they made in all of last year in under five months. their promotions in japan last year were also pretty limited: two dome concerts and two singles.

Date: 2016-04-10 05:29 am (UTC)HOLY SHIT SHINEE
I have nothing else to say than:
yaaaaaaas
I wonder how much BB and GG make tho
no subject
Date: 2016-04-10 05:37 am (UTC)idk about bb's numbers but apparently soshi brought in the fifth most last year in sales for sm. but i still bet that they probably bring in at least 20 billion won+ a year. i guess it depends on whether or not sm includes individual cfs, etc. into the equation.

Date: 2016-04-10 06:57 am (UTC)jk happy for them, they work their asses off, so better get something for it. also they have actual listenable japanese tracks.
they probably won't be able to go like this after they hit 30 or so, so better milk us before it's late.

Date: 2016-04-10 09:06 am (UTC)I totally agree. I wonder how much bigger they'd be in Korea and amongst kpop fans in general if they promoted more regularly in Korea (not only regular comebacks but reality/variety shows, etc). View was barely promoted and still sold +700k digitally and charted for around 4 months.
I'll never understand the decision of shipping them for almost 2 years to Japan every now and then. I know most of the money is there but at the same time it makes them look like they're not successful for SM standards (or flat out "flops" like lots of people like to say) simply because they're not as big as DBSK/SJ/SNSD/EXO in their homeland and amongst international kpop fandom when they actually can do pretty great, when they promote in Korea.

Date: 2016-04-10 01:44 pm (UTC)this is interesting but also prooves all the hype on internet (we know fans love this "who's a has been and who will replace them" fanwar ) doesnt translate in making more money in real life
i mean a good portion of this list is now in the army .... look at suju and tvxq
anyways good for them

Date: 2016-04-10 04:24 pm (UTC)I need to have a word with the commenters on Pann.
no subject
Date: 2016-04-11 02:15 am (UTC)I think a big part of the reason for this stability is that all the members have been promoted evenly in the long run. All of them have been given the opportunities to pursue their interests while simultaneously pulling their own weight as a team (which lead to more exposure in the long run - they've all branched different directions and made more individual connections and fans that then get led back to SHINee). This is the model that SM and other companies should be trying to emulate.
no subject
Date: 2016-04-11 03:54 am (UTC)and that's not even including the connections mentioned: onew is close with so many really well respected older producers and singers (like kim yeon woo), and jonghyun is friends with a loooot of indie / r&b artists like: crush, zion.t, gray, dear cloud, standing egg, etc. (and not to mention producers like don spike and philtre.)

Date: 2016-04-12 05:15 pm (UTC)I kind of understand where the //they're has beens// comments have come from but I never thought that of shinee because the fandom has never been too showy when it comes to polls etc and sm leaves them to their own devices but the fandom always delivers when the group has concerts/has comebacks ((because as a tvxq fan, I read those a lot for tvxq and they come from very youngish commenters who have been kpop fans for 2-3 years max and change biases to whoever is in atm)). Judging by the way SM always gives them projects (be it albums/hosting gigs/acting) - be it solos or as a group - it means there is a certain level of trust that they will always deliver. Andddd have you seen how lackluster SM is in promoting them but concerts are always sold out? I'm not worried about shinee because they always deliver
get those moneys bb
