Minzy’s Father Speaks Up About Recent 2NE1 Media Coverage

Minzy’s father has spoken up about the recent media coverage surrounding his daughter’s departure from 2NE1.

On April 6, her father left a message on his Instagram account saying, “If articles like these keep coming out, I will have a press conference to [reveal] the truth. I wanted to keep it as a beautiful farewell…”

Along with these words, he posted a video of Minzy performing. His post has since reached many individuals leading him to make his account private.

Previously, YG Entertainment officially revealed news of Minzy’s departure from 2NE1 on April 5 which resulted in mixed reactions.

Many are curious about the truth her father is alluding to.

BTW her father basically just retracted what he stated and changed his caption to

"I learned that speaking as if I correcting something untruthful/false might actually cause more misunderstandings (and false topics/rumors). I hope that there aren't any further misunderstandings."

is it too much to hope for things to stay un-messy? I know he's probably referring to spilling the beans on YGE (and that's always a good thing), but inevitably, all the girls will be dragged in and affected.

my heart is already broken at the thought that they'd never be together as 4 again, but to see these girls - all of whom I love dearly - get criticised and slammed and mocked is just too much, esp. since I'm not even over the Bom situation yet :'(

I mean, they threw her under the bus in white gloves using those money assumptions and making the statement that practically said "oh, we have ALL this great things planned for 2ne1, shame that Minzy doesn't want to be part of it anymore, but we are still nice to her and letting her go".
So I would be pissed too.

But I don't think going all out will give her any benefits, especially when it comes from parent side.
The words gonna be twisted, some 'fans" would tear her apart no matter what that possible statement would contain etc.

Currently she kinda has a lot of people in her favor bc even blind one would see her company did shit for her, but war for words with YGe would be slippy and dangerous, easy to walk on mine during it.

Yesterday I went back to an omona post of 2013 (I guess being before the #exodus excuse them a bit) where people was talking about the three big companies, and then I stopped to read the comments... so many SM stans... I thought I was going crazy reading it lol Saying that SM has bad things but people put it worst that it really is and if they have to choose that they will gladly go to that company because Super Junior has a lot of liberties... It was crazy xD The thing is I used to read Omona on 2013 even if I didn't comment and I forgot about all that.

I think I share a lot of the other sentiment on this post - like on one hand hearing YGE dirty laundry would make my day but it's definitely not a smart move on Minzys part, especially considering how from what I've seen the reaction to her departure is a lot less harsh then other ex members of groups. In my opinion she still has a chance to turn this around even more in her favor if she plays it smart.

Though the fact that Minzys father seemingly retracted his words cause of YGE makes me want her to just full on roast yg to no end lol

Just tell it tbh. Cause we've seen before that if it comes from the idol, people still won't believe it (a la Betraydol tea). But I say this since I'm not invested in her leaving, as I saw it coming and don't blame her. I understand why people wouldn't want her to go this route.
