I was waiting for this. I went to some streaming site and tried to stream a song and then I got a pop up message from my ISP that they detected spyware on my computer and now I'm scared the FBI is gonna come knocking on my door wtf
I love it!!! (And I wasn't expecting to do it)ç I'm still not sure of Fly's chorus I thought it was going to be a banger but... no.
I specially love Rewind obviously and FISH. It's such a weird and risky song but it somehow works? And I love that the chorus is like that, so different from the rest of the song, when I usually hate that thing lmao "Can't" was such a surprise because I thought I wouldn't like it and it's such an easy-to-listen-song while doing work and slowly bopping on the chair (lolllll) I don't like the last one tbh It's nice closure to the album but it does nothing to me.
rewind, begging on my knees and 못하겠어 are all BOPS. honestly jyp continuing the tradition of choosing mediocre title tracks when the album is full of great tracks.
Fly: it’s ok, i’m mad at whoever wrote/mixed jb’s parts, i guess i really miss yugyeom the rapper bc his parts worked for me Can’t: a pleasant listen See the light: FAVE Fish: not my fave but maybe it’ll be a grower Rewind: JAM of the album Beggin on my knees: should’ve been the title track tbh! wtf at this missed opportunity jyp? Something good: really liking the chorus and bridge
The boys did a a good job on the b-sides. Their songs are charting on melon and the album preorders look good so get those royalties!!
Overall the album tracks are better than Fly (Begging on my Knees is my fave), but still a disappointment because MAD was amazing and this is a downgrade imo :(
The last three songs are so good. I like the first half of the album, but there's always a little thing that doesn't suit me (like one of the guy being awkwardly mixed in Fly?). Rewind is such a jam. I really like it overall!
The last three songs are amazing, and any one of them could have been an amazing title track!! Hope Home Run can keep the momentum going, but otherwise, JYPE choose a bad title track compared to the other songs...
I'm not even done with the album yet but REWIND!!!!!!! YES YOUNGJAE!!!!
ETA: Hey OP, the version of "Fish" you posted is shortened!!
Ahh okay I'm done and I am happy!!
From most to least liked - REWIND!!!! - This is like a CLASSIC boyband sound that I grew up with and (in the vein of a 2016 version of 'Get Another Boyfriend') I am in loooove with it. That breakdown in the bridge was initially a little much but the whole track is supposed to be over the top so I've already grown to love it lmao. I'm super proud of my bb Youngjae!!!
- Beggin on the Knees!! When I saw Brian composed it I knew it would be one of my fave tracks because The Day was my fave mini of 2015 easily. Everyone in that group should go into producing for extra money. I love that swing sound and I hope it gets performed as B-side at a music show or at their concert!
- Can't! This sounds like a b-side off of their first mini which is like one of the highest compliments I can give. Yes, there's a nice groove to it but there's also a lot of movement in the chorus and I always want more of that movement in their title tracks.
- Fish. I know this song is polarizing but the "OHHHH BABY!" in the prechorus won me over before the weirdness of that drop kicked in. It's already grown on me a LOT. Kind of like how I went from hating "Put Your Hands Up" in Mad to blasting it on my car on the daily.
- Fly. I already posted my thoughts on ahgase (http://ahgase.livejournal.com/38289.html?thread=386193#t386193). Go check out the comm and thr massive pimp post in the making!!
- See the Light & Something Good. Both are very classic GOT7 b-sides. I describe them as one of those 'groove while cleaning your house' songs hahaha. I would've switched places in their album because the ending of See the Light seemed a little bittersweet.
Overall I really really liked this album! I always want a little more production wise (more depth? less 808s? I'm not versed well enough on production stuff to properly explain it) in GOT7's albums and slowly but surely, they're adding it.
i really like 'see the light', 'rewind', 'begging on my knees' and 'something good! i kind of want to know what made everyone involved chose 'fly' as their title song. especially because (from what i've seen) overall all lot of people seem to have a more positive reaction too their b-side tracks. then again it's only a small portion of opinions that i've seen. i'm just always interested at what makes them chose one song over another.
You know why Rewind is so good and title track worthy? Because Youngjae knows everyone's vocal strength and weakness. He did say on fan's that he directed the recording so yay Youngjae! 'Beggin on my knees' is my other contender for title track.
fish and the last 3 tracks are fine but by the time you get to them the rest of the album has sucked up all the energy left in your soul so you're too drained to even react
Still not really sure what to think about Fly; it's OK but it's kind of a weird song? Plus the video was underwhelming so idk if I'll grow to like it through re-watch factor.
I LOVE CAN'T HOLY SHIT. I haven't liked a GOT7 song that much in a long time.
I wish the rap part in See the Light wasn't so long but I still like the song a lot.
Rewind is the type of song I normally love but I think there's enough unnecessary elements that are preventing me from being 100% on board with it.
Beggin' on my Knees and Something Good will probably grow on me; I don't hate them but they don't have a ton of impact on first listen.
Overall though I feel like this album is really solid and I'm super proud of them for having so much involvement in the songwriting process; I think it really shows and I hope they continue. Definitely the most well-rounded GOT7 album for me.
