I’m on my senior year in college and in order to graduate, like many before me, I have to work on my thesis. As I am a Tourism major my thesis’ theme is ‘The Hallyu Influence on South Korea’s Tourism’, on it I plan to talk about how big is (or isn’t) the Hallyu to South Korea not only as a product to be exported, but as a way to bring people to their country.

However as SK is in the other side of the world and there isn’t many studies about the theme over here (I am Brazilian), my professor is unsure if I should keep the research subject, but she gave me a chance to prove that it is relevant and that people’s interest in kpop and kdrama does awake in them the desire to travel to South Korea. I already did some research about the mater (official articles and studies etc.), but I think that it would be very valuable to do a small preliminary questionnaire research to know the opinion of people from the fandom itself all over the world, and what place is better to do so than in omona?

The questionnaire is pretty short and simple (the one posted below) and if you are okay with answering it I would be very thankful for that, as it will be of great help! You can either reply in this thread (that if you feel comfortable enough to post it openly), or send me the questionnaire with your answers on my email (onhersleeve@gmail.com), however if you do send it on my email I would like if you replied this comment just so I know you sent the data!

The information will be of my use only and probably the only other person who will see it will be my professor, if I end up using any data or quote any member in the final thesis your name won’t be exposed as I will be using pseudonyms, however I am asking for your real name so it will be easier for me to analyze the information and to keep tabs. How long have you been into Kpop/Kdrama?: I was first into KDramas than kpop and I started around 2011. I knew before what was kpop for posts on ONTD, but mostly only Big Bang and 2NE1. Then I watched Dream High, I loved everyone and discover 2PM and Miss A, started to read Omona... and well never got out of here.
Have you ever traveled to South Korea? If not, do you have interest in doing so?: I did not and I would like to. If I ever save enough money and found someone who wants to travel to South Korea with me (I don't like to travel alone) it's one of the first destinations I would like to go to.
What were or would be your motives to visit the country? Did/Would Hallyu play a factor in your choice?: Hallyu is what made me be interested in Korea, but if I go I don't think I would focus my trip on it. I like more to go to the turistic places and I totally want to go to Jeju Island. I was obsessed with Running Man, another reason why I started to like kpop (to know more about the guests), and I want to see a lot of the places that are shown on the show. The food in all the variety programs is another point. I want to try everything!! xD

monday: my friend and i scored B.A.P Live On Earth tickets! so excited! it will be our first kpop concert! (i need a B.A.P icon)
wednesday: my galaxy s7 arrived in the mail! i love it!
thursday: my vacation was approved for said B.A.P concert next month.

Congrats ! I love kpop concerts lol I've been to a few and plan on going to some this summer.
My tip would be not to focus on recording stuff too much unless you have a high quality camera or already just love watching fancams. Remember to enjoy the live performances and don't get caught up with recording.

One of my friends have been ignoring me lately..  or that's how I've been feeling lately.... but this time ive finally given up ... I always try so hard in our friendship and I got tired I dunno if this person will come back or not ..  is a little hurtful but I can't continue putting so much more effort... maybe we'll talk or I'll try again eventually but for now I'm giving myself a break... Damn friendships are hard work sometimes *sighs*

also one of my good friends is going back to Korea...  I'm so sad... I really hope that we are able to maintain our relationship even through the distance.

Do you get chances to talk with people, like, during breaks and stuff? You can bring up small talk things like stuff from TV (sports, popular TV like "Walking Dead" or whatever). Or ask what they have planned for the weekend. Once you get friendly with peeps you can invite them out for drinks/cafe/food after work. Things like that.

What a fucking night.

I went to a premiere/party thing our studio had to show our latest short film tonight. It was supposed to be a fun night after a successful yet very stressful project, but a few of my lovely relatives were invited for some reason.

They decided this was the perfect timing to slam me for being a lesbian. Like, I'm used to their hateful homophobia by now, and I usually bite back just as good, but I didn't want to make a show tonight among friends and potential new business acquaintances but I ended up losing it when they loudly declared my preferences were just what was fashionable right now and they were just waiting for me to get bored of it because "it's frankly gross and disturbing".

Unfortunately for them, no one seemed too impressed with their tirade but I ended up getting beyond drunk at the party and let me tell you, I have a very high tolerance so that's hard to do. I dunno what even got into me, I don't usually let them get to me but it was so damn humiliating in front of all these friends and unknown people.

I couldn't even walk straight by the time the hall was closed and this was at 10 pm, just three hours after the show started.

Fortunately for me, I have awesome friends who took care of my sorry ass and took me to this awesome eatery to sober up by eating tacos with the hottest salsa known to man, but still...the wound is still fresh.

Refused to go to the after party and just had someone give me a ride home. Now I'm nursing the worst headache ever, still kinda tipsy and had a special night ruined.

Who even does that?

Sorry for the alcohol induced rant.
