Hyeri Hospitalized With Meningitis

SEOUL, March 6 (Yonhap) -- Hyeri, a member of the girl group Girl's Day, has been hospitalized with meningitis, her management agency said Sunday.


The heroine of the tvN drama "Reply 1988" was transported to a university hospital in northern Seoul after reporting symptoms of fever and headache around 9 a.m. Sunday, DreamT Entertainment said.


A doctor there has diagnosed her with meningitis, which is an inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and the spinal cord. Hyeri will remain hospitalized for the next few days, the agency said.


Hyeri has reportedly suffered from cold symptoms since a concert featuring her and other "Reply 1988" cast members in Seoul on Saturday.


The agency said a photo shoot and a commercial shoot scheduled for Sunday and Monday, respectively, have been canceled, and that other appointments may require re-scheduling for the time being.

Oh no, this is SUPER serious. I've seen people who've had to get limbs taken off and have almost died because of meningitis. My thoughts are with her, I hope she recovers soon.

This is really scary, I hope she recovers soon. And I hope to god she gets adequate rest after this, surely even the greediest agency will not want to risk her literally dying of overwork.

And she's been running like this since last July, between Girl's Day comeback, Reply filming (which started right after the cb) and then the inevitable slew of post-Reply cfs, photoshoots and events.

I knew someone whose 9 yr old son had meningitis and he was ill for ages. In and out of hospital for about 6 months. She was terrified. It's a really scary illness.

wtf, meningitis is serious shit.
I don't know much about the disease but from what I've heard, in some cases, it can lead to life long effects.
