It's so scary how it's a "build you up just to take you down" world :| when the series started, she was the girl everyone rooted for (mostly to beat Somi and her fanbase :/ ) and now that she's on top, she's become the girl to beat.
I didn't listen to all the songs, but i really like how Chaekyung sounded in Yanghwa bridge.
bangbang got an encore stage at the live event according to fanaccounts

Date: 2016-03-03 02:54 am (UTC)1. Say My Name: GODDDDD. Im Nayoung is sooo good? She honestly looks like she is doing everything effortlessly, but her moves are so sharp and elegant looking. It's hard to see just by watching her fancam alone, but if you watch the others then you'll notice how out of breath they are in comparison. The dance really compliments her because there are so many arm movements and her limbs are like ten feet long, but she really does well.
Kang Mina impressed me so much here too. Even though she was a little behind on some parts, her expression and stage charisma made up for it.
Kang Siwon was having trouble with her breathing but she did keep up and especially towards the end was really in sync.
Yoonseo is impressive considering her young age.
Sihyun seemed to struggle with having the energy/strength to stop her movements where they should (in comparison to Nayoung, who stops everything dead right where it should be stopped), but this is a really deceivingly tiring choreography.
Overall, I really liked this group because they were all on the same wavelength with expressions and the overall ~*~ feeling ~*~ of the song. I expected this to be the worst song choice but I think I like it the most!
2. Growl: This was surprisingly so much fun to watch? I thought it would be boring because we have all seen growl choreography done a thousand times, but I enjoyed this. It's unfortunate that Park Haeyoung looked quite tired/nervous and didn't seem to have the energy or sharpness that I was expecting. A nice surprise was how great her voice sounded! Her smile about halfway through was also sunshine.
Im Jungmin was REALLY good... I was caught off guard because I've never noticed her dancing before. The song is supposed to be "sexy" but it was adorable seeing her naturally smile-y and then going into a lip bite because she remembered lol. I also thought Park Hayi's lines were really clean.
Where is Gaeul?
3. Full Moon: Urrrghhh... I really thought this was a terrible option for a dance song. The energy is low, the movement is almost minimal... 24Hours would have been a much more dynamic and engaging choreography and performance. I really hate how they switched between 2/3 cameras for this performance because it was too distracting to watch.
Pinky is amazingly pretty, but... Hmm... That dress is really unflattering. It is just a box on her that has feathers attached at the bottom ;; I honestly have a conspiracy theory that Mnet hates Pinky and this just ties into it tbh. The other outfits are way more flattering (I liked Sohye's the most). Also, her bangs bother me...
Chaeyeon is so pretty. SO. PRETTY. Oh my god. Her typical expression of looking up from below is perfect for this performance. She looks so so so so so so so so so so good.
Sohye has definitely improved but she still looks awkward here.
It seems to me that she is staring at a random lighting fixture attached to the ceiling the entire time or at a spot in the distance?jk this is because she's staring at the other camera. They really should not have run multiple cameras on this performance besides for the opening shot. Her movements are still a little too rushed to give a sensual feel or the elegance that this song needs but she definitely has improved. I will still place her at a less than average dancer... Overall, I would say, Chaeyeon > Pinky > Sohye.I'm only gonna post my dance group thoughts here bc I'm typing way too much and nobody cares but I had fun typing this anyways LMFAO

Bang Bang: I WANT CHUNGHA TO KILL ME OMFGGGG SHE IS SO HOT IDK WHAT TO SAY STEP ON ME MURDER ME GOD THE SECOND SHE TURNS AROUND IT'S LIKE BEING HIT WITH A CANNONBALL. The song choice is PERFECT for her because she has sound a loud and explosive energy when she dances. She's so small but her movements are so big and she just fills up the entire space.
Yoojung is honestly so good with her facial expressions. She's just like Chungha - their confidence is really all out. So, so good!
I thought Doyeon could have done better but she was still great! I've seen her other dance videos so I was hoping she would step it up but it might be hard to compare with Chungha and Yoojung? Her visuals got me going crazy though and my heart was going 10000mph with her gaze at the end of her video. I think it's just that she has a really classy and calm feeling with her that wasn't completely aligned with the energy of Bang Bang, but her movements were control and clean as usual!
Eunbin was not convincing for me... She seemed to be more going through the motions than actually being immersed in the dance, and the sequence from 0:50 to 0:57 is so sloppy :/ Did not enjoy watching that. And is Mnet taking revenge on her/cube with that styling? Wonder if she has an infection in her eye :( Hope she's okay but this was not a great performance for me to watch.
Seokyung is only a little better than average in dance, but I think it's mainly her energy that makes me enjoy watching her so much. She's impressive because she seems to accept any challenge with a smile and you can tell that she's having so much fun just being on a stage (she's an independent trainee). Picking into a group like Bang Bang must have been so hard for her (she was the last spot for Bang Bang), but she looks like the type to take any chance to grow and so I hope she learned a lot from the excellent dancers in her group.
Somi is good, way better than average. She looked really comfortable with this performance and she first picked into a really, really fitting song. Fun to watch, but unfortunate that she has to be compared with Chungha and Yoojung ;;
Dani is tall and long like some of my other favorite dancers but she doesn't have the same amount of control they do, so it's not as nice to watch her in comparison. Again, this was a really hard group to pick into and I wasn't so impressed although she was reasonably clean!
The Yoojung-Chungha-Doyeon butt slapping line is a great thing. Overall: Chungha > Yoojung > Somi/Doyeon > Dani/Seokyung > Eunbin for me.
IMO: Bang Bang (Chungha, Yoojung) > Say My Name (Im Nayoung, Kang Mina) > Growl (Im Jungmin) > Full Moon.

The Bang Bang performance is one of the best. Chungha fits the song so well. Also, Somi's voice, in my opinion is bit (what's the right word) childish? for the song, idk but it contrast the song although she did well. And does the girl with the eyepatch have an eye infection? I first thought Yoojung wouldn't fit this concept because she looks so cute, she fits.
Full Moon: I am bias as I don't like Full Moon :T The performance as a whole was okay.
Say my name: Cute Mina, such a contrast from the A Pink - I don't know performance.
For vocals:
I like the Zion.T BRDG performance. The DSP girl did better than I thought because I thought her field was dancing. (OP, you put Sejeong's fancam in Kim Nayoung's link).
Monster was good too, Chanmi sung well. She gets the hate for the Mnet edits although Mnet edits another girls glaring too (so I don't get it? and I'm not talking about just Somi).
Call Me Baby was fun and energetic! I haven't paid attention to those girls until now.
Haven't seen the raps yet.

-Chaeyeon's face is ridiculously pretty.
-KANG MINA, GIRL... I never really cared about and her and her cuteness but she slayed that performance and looked really sexy (she reminds me of Vanessa Hudgens lol)
- I LOVE Park Haeyoung's voice. It's so unique that you could clearly hear her all over their "Growl" version.

Date: 2016-03-03 06:01 am (UTC)Im Nayoung surprised me. maybe after everyone being so extra in bang bang it felt more restrained and that's why i liked it. but i will keep my eye on her. there is something in the way she dances that actually makes me pay attention to her. i don't even remember the last time i was this into kpop dancers (unless they were just technically good dancers that can execute every element well).
Chungha's new haircolor isn't doing her any favours because my eyes just wonder elsewhere and i couldn't even recognize her at first.
and the fancam that truly impressed me (even tho i'd rather keep it on mute. who is rapping in the beginning? it's like nails on chalkboard) was Kang Yebin's. wow. that was impressive. i rewatched it way too many times. now i'm a fan of hers. she was great. i didn't care about her rapping but she is really charismatic and sold me this whole concept from first second till the end.

My fav rap performances are Turtle Ship and Rhythm Ta. Turtle Ship wins out though, the charisma of the team of girls really just gives the song life. Soyeon & Sooyeon <3

Date: 2016-03-03 10:50 am (UTC)For the rapping, I was kind of let down by everybody but the ones who stood out the most were Yebin (who happens to be my bias), Sooyeon & Hyeongeun, who might not have been perfect but they, at least, didn't come off as trying to badly mimic Hyuna a la Soyeon or do whatever Rhythm Ta was (however much I love Shin, it really wasn't good).
I'll be interested to see how much of the ranking was actually based on who did the best vs their public popularity, though.
