TWICE’s Nayeon Reveals How You Know If You’re Going to Debut at JYP Entertainment

TWICE’s Nayeon spoke about a tradition for JYP Entertainment trainees for this week’s broadcast of MBC’s “Radio Star.”

On the show, host Yoon Jong Shin prompts Nayeon, “There is a tradition for all artists before debuting.” Nayeon says,

“You have to have a meal with Park Jin Young. If you’ve eaten [with Park Jin Young], then your debut has been confirmed.”

The full episode airs on March 2 at 11:10 p.m., and features guests Lee Se Young, Lee Yi Kyung, Dong Hyun Bae (Taeyang‘s older brother), and Nayeon, for a star look-alike special.

I feel like if the idols are going to have a dinner with Park Jin Young is because they are already in a group that is going to debut, so this seems just logical lol

She was already in a group set to debut in 2013 but that didn't happen. I don't know if they recorded any materials before the group dissolved but she's probably weary of any promise until the dinner with the boss tradition before debut but after album preparations.

I know, she probably didn't trust anyone after that and having to go to sixteen. Poor thing. I was trying to say that it sounds logic that JYP would take to dinner a group that he already knows he is going to debut. I'm sometimes bad at explaining myself in my first language so I'm even worst in english xD

Haha I was expecting something dramatic, but it's just sharing a meal. Which seems totally logical for me, but of course it would look different for someone who had been training to debut for years (especially someone who already almost debuted before)
