(on “drip drop”.) jonghyun: we listened to it together during our concert vcr filming. taemin told me to have a listen and it was so good. i like taemin’s version compared to the original one. it was so exciting. i remember taemin and i danced while listening to it even though the weather that day was so cold. neither taemin or jonghyun have any idea who did the female back up vocals on "drip drop". (so, it's not krystal, luna, wendy, etc. like speculated.) (source)

jonghyun participated in background vocals on the chorus of "벌써 (already)". he told listeners to listen closely for his voice. (source) he also confirmed that he wrote the song during a songwriting camp that sm does with their songwriters, producers, etc. that he attended personally. the song was supposed to be for a project where he was meant to find / write a song for himself, but he ended up thinking that it would suit taemin better and gave it to him. taemin said that recording the song was difficult for him because of the key being so high. jonghyun asked taemin what a recent worry of his is, and he admitted that one of his worries is that the music industry changes too rapidly as well as the taste of the general public and, because of this, people always want something new so it's hard for singers to adjust and follow that. (source)

taemin made a "pledge" to fans that if he wins first place on a music show he'll show jonghyun's abs. jonghyun was, of course, flabbergasted by this concept because he'd be at home "resting" even though taemin said that it'd be more "fun" doing that. he then went on to propose that a better idea would be taking a picture of jonghyun's abs and showing the picture if he won, but jonghyun said that it'd be better for him to do something "on the spot" if he wins. taemin basically threw him under the bus at that point and said that he knows that jonghyun sleeps with no clothes on / has seen him sleeping without clothes on a lot. This album is a masterpiece. I really liked his first mini but this is on an entirely different level.

My fav would be Soldier, Press your number, Sexuality, Guess Who, One by one, Mystery Lover, Already, (even Drip Drop is growing on me) so I basically can't pick a fav. I actually love ALL the songs on this album which doesn't happen so often. The production is gorgeous and Taemin sounds really good. He's come so far vocal-wise.

And Blue Night ♥ I love how comfortable Jongtae are with each other.

He was indeed nervous while singing it on the radio, but it was good.
I like PYN and Already the most, then Drip Drop, Soldier and Sexuality. Other songs are not bad, but it's just not my thing.
Wish him all the best in this comeback, even though I'll be a bit sad if he gets all the wins and doesn't leave anything for B.A.P, lol.

the album is nice, i really love guess who & one by one. press your number isn't as good as i was expecting it to be which is a bummer, drip drop still sounds weird to me, but other than that the rest of the songs were good!

This album is just SO SOLID. Call me biased but I find it one of the best albums SM has ever produced: mature, smooth, sophisticated... Praying that he gets the recognition that he deserves for this because it's just A++.

I still haven't seen BN, but from the gifs and pics I've seen they're so damn cute together. I'm being greedy now, but I kinda want a Jongtae subunit/single for SM station tbh. Their dynamics is just amazing.

Drip Drop - didn't like the song - sounds disjointed

Press Your Number - Taemin performs the song well but it lacks something that I can't put my finger on to make it great.

Soldier- probably the best song on the album

Already - good song but sounds like it belongs on a Shinee album

Guess Who- catchy but part of the song sounds similar to Danger

One By One -good R&B track but nothing that stands out

Mystery Lover- I don't know how I feel about this song. its an easy listen but the carnival music backing track has been used so much I don't know if I like it or not

Sexuality- thought I was going to hate it, the beginning sounds similar to parts of Guess who and Danger but the rest of the song is different - liked it, catchy

Until Today- another good R&B track, again nothing groundbreaking but solid track

Hypnosis- boring, least favorite track

This album is flawless.my fave mini from any solo sm artist thus far.
idek know my favorites yet although soldier is definitely up there. also the bass in guess who? being so prominent and constant is actually better than i thought it would be.
Also surprised that Taemin went the a more powerful vocal route, when he is known as a dancer /dancey songs. with songs like soldier, already, and mystery lover among others and he slayed those notes <3 so proud of him. also this album definitely has its own color and it's an amazing color T.T need the lyrics lol


after both reading the lyrics and listening to the songs the best are: until today ,already( someone really hurt jjong omg), soldier, hypnosis,pyn, one by one, mystery lover, and drip drop.

Didn't like Soldier, Already and Hypnosis. Soldier sounded amazing on the highlight, but they turned out to be generic fillers.

Ok were One By One, Until Today and Mistery Lover. I liked the creepy music box sound, reminds me of Orgel a bit. The guitar on One By One gets grating by the middle of the song.

Liked Sexuality and Press Your Number. Solid fun songs; will add to the exercising playlist.

Loved Drip Drop and Guess Who. These are the only two tracks I feel lived up to the quality of the highlight medley.

I made the mistake of listening to Bruno's demo of Press Your Number and it took me a long while to warm up to Taemin's version. But I really enjoy it now!

I'm not sure how I feel about Drip Drop since all I can think of is that gorgeous video.

I love Jonghyun's endless support for Taemin. It's so pleasant and sweet. ♥

Very, very impressed by this album! I think this is a collective accomplishment of the producers, writers, and Taemin in that this is a really cohesive, modern-sounding album. There are some amazing hooks on these songs. I've always thought that Taemin really lacked with musicality in his singing, but he has gotten better with feeling the music. With Ace I kept wondering how Jonghyun would sound singing a lot of the songs on the mini. This time around I only found myself wanting that for Until Today. It was daring for Taemin to have so many ballads, when it's never been his strong suit but I actually found them pleasant. Except Hypnosis. What an awful way to end the album.

Soldier, PYN (they made the right choice speeding it up from the demo), Guess Who, One by One are the faves, and I think Drip Drop is just incredible. Drip Drop actually reminds me of 4 Walls and it turns out Tay Jasper worked on both songs. The experimental sound just works so well for me with this song.

i'm probably biased but i absolutely love this album, every track on this album is amazing and completely up my alley --- i still can't get over how good mystery lover is and sexuality's lyrics i'm melting, i really need to find the lyrics for all of the other songs. i can't wait to see them performed live *-*

also, jongtae are too cute with each other i was too into the broadcast yesterday, also jonghyun has the most calming voice istg, even if i can't understand a majority of what he is saying, it's still so nice to just listen to his voice (altho ok i was surprised by how much i could understand without subs or live trans)

honestly, this album isn't my favorite but that's alright bc WE HAVE DRIP DROP. really proud that he penned some songs, tho. hopefully we get to see his compositions on an album at some point <3

everything sounds really amazing but stand outs for me are drip drop, mystery lover (prob my fave because of the creepy vibe it gives), and sexuality (wow!!!).

I was so not disappointed, this entire album is what I have been listening to all day in the car to/from work and when I was running errands. I usually look at people really weird when I see them wearing earbuds while walking around inside stores, but that was me today.

Literally no bad song on the entire album for me, and I'm so angry that I love something that came from SM so much. I'm so proud of how far Taemin has come with his singing, and the fact that he still gets nervous singing on his own is so adorable to me. Soldier legit gave me goosebumps, ugh. Probably one of my if not my favorite song for me, and I love the emotion in his voice. I finally feel like he's emotionally connecting with the music, and I think being actively involved in the process and the creation of it really helped.

It's also really adorable how he and Jjong look when they're interacting together, just those few screenshots from Blue Night completely slay me.

The whole album is much better than Ace. Hypnosis is bad because it's boring, not because it's a ballad. If he had a good SHINee ballad like Quasimodo or Life that would have made everything different.
