Queen Go-Eun Flawlessly Chooses Her Ideal Type Among “Cheese in the Trap” Characters

In a recent interview, actress Kim Go Eun spoke up about her favorite scenes and characters in her ongoing tvN drama “Cheese in the Trap.”

As the drama moves into its 11th episode, Kim Go Eun picked two scenes so far as her most memorable. “I think the second kiss with Yoo Jung (Park Hae Jin) had a very romantic, warm vibe,” she said. “The piano playing scene with In Ho also came out really prettily. From Seol’s point of view, I thought that In Ho’s regard was very deep.”

The actress also shared further thoughts about Baek In Ho (Seo Kang Joon). “In Ho is the type to have a lot of affection for anyone. On the outside he nags a lot but if you see him talk to Seol’s family, you can see he has a lot of deep feelings. Because of that, I think Seol feels comfortable and friendly about him.”

Kim Go Eun had nothing but praise for her co-stars. “Hae Jin sunbae is very considerate and warm. He’s the most veteran out of all of us so he was in a position where he could control the atmosphere on set. But the atmosphere was so good and I think that’s due to him. Seo Kang Joon has a bit of a playful attitude. Both of them took very care of me.”

When asked who she would choose between Yoo Jung and Baek In Ho, she replied,

“Neither of them is my style. I like Eun Taek (Nam Joo Hyuk). Eun Taek is very honest about his feelings. He likes Bora (Park Min Ji) and follows her around. Even when she doesn’t reciprocate and ignores him, he moves past it. I like that honesty.”

Kim Go Eun debuted in 2012 with the film “A Muse” and has starred in several other movies since, including “Monster” and “Coin Locker Girl.” “Cheese in the Trap” is her first melodrama.

she's amazing, ik people were super sceptical and trashing her before the drama began as if they forgot just how much praise she got right from her debut, but I'm glad she reminded everyone just what she can do.

I'm super impressed by how different she is between roles -like it doesn't even feel like the protagonists of Eungyo, Coin Locker Girl, Monster and Cheese are the same person. And she's just so natural as Seol, it never ever comes off as ott or hammy.

I heard she got bitched out a lot for Coin Locker Girl so I watched it expecting subpar performance......and what do I find but Kim Go-eun holding her own against freaking KIM HYE SOO. idk what people expect of KGE but if any female idol had put out a performance at that level, people here would be screaming give them a Daesang.

I really appreciate her role choices, she might be better in some things than others but it actually seems like she's interested in the acting part of things and not the fame part.

People complained about her acting in Coin Locker Girl? She was amazing in it. I'm expecting not to like her in the movie but I ended up admiring her ability as an actress. She is so likable as a person.

People are insane. How can you call that a subpar performance? She is against Kim Hye Soo and she did it so well without any glaring weakness.

I love her, I'm so happy she's getting all the praise for how perfect she is as Seol.

People really had the knives out for her before the drama began, I'm happy she silenced them all and slayed left and right - now I hope she gets the opportunities her talent deserves. (idt she's into chasing cfs or big-name dramas, going by her film choices and how hard they had to work to get her for Cheese in the first place).

edit: also, good choice on Taek. I def wouldn't want In-ho, he has way too much of a manpain victim complex and was an utter asshole in the past, I mean did we all forget the part where he betliitles his sister and jokes about her abuser? Plus I'm sick of how much screen time he takes up, can we get some more of Seol's - you know, the actual HEROINE AND MAIN CHARACTER - story instead of 1458101 scenes of him playin the piano and looking angstily at her.

Thank God Kim Go Eun has more common sense than the oppalogist doormat that is Hong Seol (like, HS has stood up for herself how many times? one? the other times were because other people pushed her to do it, if not, she's a happy rug). Kim Go Eun knows way better than all those delusional masochists with zero self-esteem who are like:
