Plot: This period drama depicts the ambitions and success stories of 6 people with Lee Bang-Won as the central figure. Lee Bang-Won was the third king in the Joseon Dynasty. He helped his father King Taejo establish the Joseon Dynasty.

........ I am SO late with this post, I'm so sorry you guys! ;_; And I'm so behind with the episodes too, I really have to catch up! Hope some of you are still watching this drama, b/c I really think it only gets more and more interesting as the episodes progress. Oh and btw, congrats to the whole cast for all the awards they got! They really deserved them!!
PS: Maybe you've seen it, but "Socialphobia" with Byun Yo-han and Ryu Joon-yeol has finally been subbed! Should I make an extra discussion post for that? Don't want to spoil anyone in this post.

I'm just starting this drama (and I don't have much time to watch many episodes at once), but I'm already loving it, and Byun Yo Han is my favorite part of it xD.

I think a lot of us have been waiting for it, but I think many subbers didn't dare to do it b/c of the specific vocab and slang used in it. It hasn't been officially subbed, but if you just search "Socialphobia eng sub" on Google, you'll find it in the first few results. ;)

Me, too! We waited so long for this!! ;_; I think not even the official DVD has English subtitles, which I don't get - didn't they even show it at a film festival in Toronto? I'm sure they showed it with subs there!!

Actually, I've been dying to watch this drama since it was anounced (I was needing a new Byun Yo Han drama since Misaeng, and I love saeguks lol), but I don't like to start dramas that are being aired because then I'm all crazy waiting for the next episode. But I couldn't wait anymore to star it, and since I'm so busy that I can just watch one or two episodes per day (or not even that ;;), I decided to start it xD.

Oh, have you watched Ex-Girlfriends Club yet? The ratings apparently weren't that great but I thought it was a really sweet rom-com type of drama. I thought BYH and Song Ji-hyo had nice chemistry as well!

Actually, I fell for him with that drama; I watched Misaeng after that one and fell for him even more xD. I don't understand the low rating of The ex-girlfriends' club in Korea, I loved that drama, it was really sweet and funny.

Im on the 8th one so that is early on, but keeping track of everyones names and their relationships to one another is a bit hard to follow. So when someone dies or comes back to town it like but who is this??!!

This may sound kinda ridiculous, but maybe it's help if you made a chart? I know I did that years ago when I read "One Hundred Years of Solitude", because I was told keeping track of the characters was difficult in that. I think it helped. :D

Honestly, I was hesitant before this drama b/c I'd only ever heard bad things about Shin Se-kyung. But I really think she's doing a great job in this drama, and she's had some really nice scenes handed to her, too!

Spoilers ahead: Episode 25 is probably my favorite episode of a drama of all time. The action sequences were great and I was so upset about our favorites being hurt and in danger. We all expected Banji to be the one who lost his temper but instead it was puppy Moohyul. I'm really happy with the resolution of the rapist story line. I thought it acknowledged the trauma of the victim Yeonhee as well as the witness Bangji.

I'm tired of Jung Do Jeon acting like Bang Won is a bad guy just get rid of him already.
Sorta disappointed by what a pushover his dad turned out to be also.
Moohyul is my favourite character I am excited to see what side he'll pick. Such a nice guy :C
Also ep 40 had me banging my head in the wall AGAIN like can Boon Yi do something clever for once please.

I hate waiting for new eps lmao I should have waited until the drama was done to watch it but I guess
watching 50 eps in a row is a bit much lmao.

i only started watching cause of yoo ah in (i watch everything yoo ah in), but then stayed for everyone else basically. like gil tae mi... what a part he had. okay how do i not start binge watching again, i need to work tomorrow.

Maybe don't binge watch, but I seriously recommend continuing to watch it! Yoo Ah-in SHINES in this drama, seriously. I mean, he is always great and he always chooses interesting characters, but here particularly I imagine it must be so much fun for him. Lee Bang-won is such a fascinating and difficult (? as in, multi-faceted) character, it's a joy to watch him.

No, it's a movie! It came out a bit after Misaeng aired (I think?) and was pretty successful for basically being an indie movie, as far as I understand. It's a crime movie/thriller and it deals with the darker side of the internet, I guess. Byun Yo-han, Ryu Joon-yeol, and Lee Joo-seung are all in it, but it took so long for someone to sub it. Most people probably assumed that we'd never see a subbed version. :'D

Omg dark Lee Bang Won is sooo good to watch. Yoo Ah In should get an oscar or something, he's killin it.
I cant wait for Bang Won to destroy JDJ, for a supposed to be genius scholar it wasn't a very smart of him to ostracize their revolution's key player especially when JDJ know how much cunning and savvy Bang Won can be.
Also can the writer please do something about Boon yi. That girl start with a spark and strong but lately she's been doing nothing but being mopey and stare at things with longing. I dont even know what emotion she's channeling right now. Either get rid of her or make her character do something important.
10 more episode to come, JDJ and his crew better be prepare for Lee Ban Won's hell coming their way.
