My hobby is chocolatiery. I actually pondered on making it a career option but I can't afford schooling :/ Also skincare! I belong to the 'sheet mask everyday' club, it's safe to say it became a hobby.

I had a short (one week, and so randomly staring from wed :/) midterm break and I spent it binge watching taiwanese dramas. Some where really bad but there were some gems too? I kept up with Marry You Or Not but last few episodes were kinda draggy and bleh so I had to find a filler. I finally finished Mr Right Wanted and it was good? It was flustrating at times but nothing major. It reminded me of Chris Wu existence and somehow I ended up watching his hakka drama about funeral company lol.
Also (it's a c-drama tho) everyone should watch Go Princess Go. It's about a playboy guy who wakes up in princess' body and it's really low-budget series but really funny and worth it. There's like 30+ eps but they are 20mins long so it's not that bad.

Two big things for me this week!

1) I finished my TEFL certificate a few weeks ago and I've already managed to get a class of my own at the biggest English college in the city!! god i can't wait to be working again - I'm planning to keep teaching English until I can get work in my main industry (engineering)

2) My friend and I did a k-drama watching night bc I'd...never actually watched one before, lmao! We watched You're Beautiful, which was cute/funny. I haven't finished it yet, though, and I gotta ask
...do...all k-drama heroines act like 12 yos? Because after a while I was rme so hard at the "w-what is this feeling" nonsense and the childishness was really annoying me. Can anyone rec me a few dramas where the female leads actually act like grown-ass women?

as for hobbies....going to gym, vidya games and Star Wars right now!

There's Misaeng (office drama, Kang Sora was great), Witch's Romance (noona romance, remake of taiwanese drama), Master's Sun (bit of strech maybe but ghost-seeing heroine grew a lot through the series), Innocent Man (there's bit of issue with declawing the heroine tho), Protect the Boss (chaebol struggle done right), Que Sera Sera (underrated angsty drama), Dalja's Spring (classic, another noona romance), My Name is Kim Samsoon (a patisser gets involved with cheabol, total classic)...
With tine you get used to annoying female leads in kdramas, at least I did? Sadly :/

The hobby that takes me the most time is going on netflix, looking at everything, skipping every single thing, then sighing because I can't find anything to watch, then going on my cable network's vod, browsing everything and skipping everything, then browsing my external hard drive that's plugged on the TV, browsing everything and wonder which series I've already watched a couple times before I will finally watch.
And most of the time I can't decide on anything so I'll just sigh and turn off everything and go read.

the church i'm going to during college is doing lent and i've never done lent before, so i'm trying it out. the thing i gave up is fanfiction :/ i didn't realize how much time i spent reading fic. i don't know what to do on the internet anymore? that was like my ultimate hobby. reading fic.

now reading fic has been replaced with reading cooking stuff and ontd lmao i'm a loser. my other hobbies are listening to music, daydreaming, singing badly, and sending annoying memes to my friends :D

i need to get some better hobbies. all i do is watch tv and consume animanga, and most of the time i'm rewatching/rereading stuff because i can never decide what to start.


i've only seen 1997 so i was NOT expecting to cry as much as i did. like the first episode had me tearing up so that should've been a warning sign. i loved the focus on families. the situations felt very real and a good amount of them hit home :'( although with each episode coming in close to 2 hours, it was a bit much at times. the moms' friendship was the best

i really wish the deoksun/taek relationship was fleshed out more. there were clues from the beginning but everything happened in the last 2 episodes and it was all rushed and sidelined. we got a date montage and that was it...? the series had nearly 40 hours to work with and they didn't think to start before the last 2 episodes? or maybe pace things out better? the moments they had were cute but dammit i wanted more!!

meanwhile bora/sunwoo's relationship is given ample screentime almost throughout the whole series? who is the main couple here? i may be biased because i don't particularly care for them as characters or as a couple. bora's relationship with her dad and sunwoo's relationship with his mom and sister were the only times i enjoyed watching them and that's only because they mirrored my relationship with my parents so :/

JUSTICE FOR MY SHAFTED BOYS JUNGHWAN AND DONGRYONG ;___;
what was the point of shoving junghwan in our faces and then practically cutting him out. he went from being in almost every other scene to what seemed like a cameo appearance by the end. even jungbong got a little shoutout about his future (although i don't quite buy him as a chef. i thought he'd write a book about all the trivial information he's picked up and become some kind of heralded genius for household affairs). he as a character could've been fleshed out more instead of just showing us him pine and feel conflicted. other characters were developed as individuals outside of their romantic relationships but junghwan never got much attention outside of his feelings for deoksun. he was a good kid who cared so so much about his family and friends. it would've been nice to see more of who he was as a person. also, him acknowledging that his hesitation was to blame was so good, even if it didn't take deoksun's feelings into account.

the forever forgotten dongryong!!!!!!! his character was mostly for comic relief but he was such a good friend, and i'd argue that he was deoksun's best friend?? i adored their relationship. at least they gave him a stable future where he is successful in his own right.

i thought it was kinda corny that everyone ended up with their neighbourhood love and that taek's drug dependence was cured by love?? also what about his smoking that was never addressed??? how was he never shown hospitalized once?? his lifestyle was terrible??

i will be waiting for someone to make an abridged version focusing on taeksun so i can rewatch for the cute, and not get bogged down by bora/sunwoo or start crying over families. the end video probably won't even be 2 hours lmao :| i'd do it myself but i don't think my computer could handle it.

despite issues with loose ends and writing, i enjoyed reply 1988. i'm so emotionally and physically drained though

- art - I was an art major but I'm a bum and haven't done much of it since (go figure). My paints and such are all like 3 feet from where I am right now ㅠㅠ setting everything up is such a pain...
- soccer/football - haven't played in forever. This makes me sad

- video games - I play my 3DS every so often. I have a PS2 but I don't play it much.

Hobbies:
- watching movies and tv-shows. I watch a lot of shit, mostly American. I want to watch more kdramas but after working in front of the computer for 8-10 hours I don't feel like watching the screen anymore so I download a movie or smth and play it on the TV. I know it's still a screen, but I won't be bothered with subs this way and I am more comfortable on the bed + bigger screen.
- traveling although I'm not that active due to financial reasons. Last December I went to Amsterdam and Copenhagen+Odense for a week and it was wonderful.
- going to concerts. already bought tickets for a festival in August. Gonna see Years&Years and Hurts!
- searching for new music and new bands every day
- when I'm in the mood I knit sometimes but nothing in particular. Just a scarf or I start something and keep at it until the knitting-bug wears off and then leave it.
I haven't started anything this year cause I also have to write my MA thesis so my time is limited. I'd like to start reading more and try my hand at various recipes. I love food!
