I can see Secret and 2NE1 disbanding. Secret, because they don't seem to have such a bond and have different wish now: acting for Sunhwa (she should switch to an acting agency), solos for Hyosung and Jieun (could be staying in TS or leaving for another company), and who knows what Hana is up to - I hope she doesn't stay with a company that did so badly with her. 2NE1, because YG doesn't seem to care about them anymore, Minzy is making plans on her own (whether or not her dance studio is going to work is another debate), Dara is finally well-managed, CL is still to debut in the US and Bom... idk.

I could see f(x) renewing, even if it's just for one or two years. They don't have much group activities, which leave the rest of the year for whatever they're up to. SM has been accomodating to Krystal after Jessicagate, Victoria has her own studio to work on her activities in China, Amber is doing her thing... they'll be fine, SM just needs to give more things for Luna to do.

I don't know about the others. Cube should try everything to keep Hyuna and Beast, they're the money-makers. But who knows. I can see Hyuna negotiating to keep 4Minute active (menacing to switch labels could get them somewhere, maybe) or I'm just totally blind. I don't know if Beast members are still close.
DSP better be promoting Rainbow this year as they should have always done instead of how they have done so far.

each of 2NE1 member need to find their own path outside 2NE1 imo, since CL seems to be focused on her solo project for a looooong time, and Park Bom can't appear without getting so much hate.

fx is still doing fine

i hope secret will renew their contract since they did not have many successful track of solo activities. idk tho about their relationship with each other

rainbow needs to stay since i think THIS TIME DSP will make an effort for them since they don't have any potential cashflow anymore

I don't think 4minute and beast are going anywhere because they're basically the breadwinners of Cube even if they don't do as well as before. f(x) has proven to still be successful but people keep saying that some members look done so idk. 2NE1...I guess it depends of Bom's situation and it seems like YG is only interested to push CL at this point. Rainbow...depends of how well they do with this comeback and Secret hasn't released anything in forever and they didn't seem to have the public's favor anymore so who knows...

Bom's scandal has always been the impediment to 2NE1 coming back. CL's US solo was announced prematurely and she still has almost nothing to show for it, 2NE1 could have easily released material during this time especially since they already have recorded songs for a mini at the very least. CL and Dara's solo work could have easily accommodated a 2NE1 comeback but that was never the issue in the first place

I don't have high hopes for any group, cause they all have their particular issue to be solved with label/members.

I fear most for F(X) 4minutes and beast. I am not sure FX bound is strong enough to renew, I mean, Krystal has issues with SM and she many times said fx music is not her style, Victoria is pretty big in China, maybe she will decide to be there for good, she is almost 30 years old already. So I really don't know what's gonna happen to them.
4minutes i don't know if Cube will renew, I hope they do, love them, but Cube barelly promote their artists :(

Beast I am not sure will remain cause of the issues they had last year with hyunseung, I don't think he is getting along with the other members anymore ( not making rumor, just wondering after reading all the past news related). I hope for good news from them.

I doubt fx will disband because sm is finally putting work into them. plus, if fx disbanded, and with snsd's contracts expiring next year (even as a sone I don't think they'll go for more than 10 years), that would leave sm with only red velvet as a girl group.

beast are the bread winners, cube would be dumb to let them go. dsp will fall apart if rainbows comeback doesn't do well, so the fate of the company is riding on them.

secret are done.

I'd be sad to see 2ne1 go, even if I'm not a fan and want cl to stop what she's doing. 2NE1s legacy alone would be something to mourn if they disbanded.

I don't see SNSD "disbanding", but I can see them taking a "indefinite hiatus" to create the idea of OT8 forever. I can see some of the members who are interested in singing continuing subunits though. I also think most? of the girls will stay with SME.

If all of 2ne1 renew I imagine their contracts will look very, very different. Focus on solo activities. Bom's the main modifier there, it depends on what plans they have for her.
I hope f (x) and 4minute renew. Idc abojt the others. I hope rainbow do well this month though!

fx got some more solo gigs, so probably sm is keeping them happy to sign for more.

4minute... idk i saw they really tried their best with this comeback as members, judging from the performances, but cube tries less and less, so i hope they go separate ways.

i'm one of the last shameless beast (well, hyunseung and yoseob) fans here, i think they've built a nice enough discography thus far... i miss upbeat shinsadong x beast way too much, not here for more junhyung stuff, really. i guess they still make enough money, it's just i know i would get frustrated of carrying a whole agency on my back (with hyuna) if i was them, even with the priviliges they get. the only way i'd be happy for beast to stay together/with cube is if their attitude changes, and they get actual marketing professionals working for them.

secret was fun for a while, i won't be surprised/sad if they don't stay, though.

2ne1.... don't make me cry. that 2ne1 discog is serious business. unless they come back with a bang, no point for them to stay, though. i'll need to change my nick to lee minho's nose or seo in young or something.

I can see Beast renewing their contracts for the next 2-3 years, probably - because after that the '89ers have to go and serve, and that gives them an automatic out - the group has only 2 years gap between the eldest and youngest, most of them are the same age so they're likely to be serving at the same time/group can't be active with so many members missing.

That's as good an opportunity as any to announce a hiatus, it'll be 10 years by then. When you think about it, none of the 1gen groups other than Shinhwa even made it to 7 years, the 2/3gen groups have already gone on for longer than that, especially the active ones (i.e. having a comeback every year, regular group activities and stuff).

i'm not worried about rainbow at all, now that kara is gone, you can already see they're getting the resources that went to kara
now would be a weird time for f(x) to quit, they just had their first comeback as f(4) and their first concert, they don't seem like they're winding down at all
i think the whole "4minute's future depends on this comeback" thing was just media play, 4minute are too important for the company to waste them like that
2ne1 on the other hand... well i've accepted that yg's brain doesn't function like a normal human, who else could have the #2 girl group in korea and let them rot, at least make a subunit or something while CL is in the US

beast will either continue as five (some beauties want that) with hyunseung on hiatus probably or some miracle happens and he will continue with the group. i don't think there's a discord between members, just hyunseung seems done bc of reasons and cube became a pretty shitty agency so... beauties kept it all under wraps and only recently people made fuss on pann :/ beast had a good image in korea, esp considering they barely had scandals (tbh, except hara-junhyung) and while i never felt they pushed some sort of ot6 they still had a good relationship?
4minute will re-sign but most probably for 2 years and after that they will prolly either disband and carry on with their lives or carry on with the idol life but idk. even if they disband they are going to be like ses, still very close?

rainbow probably wont disband, dsp will only have april, youngji and ajax then (and ajax is dead pretty much), it's not looking good for them? some rainbow members are able to get steady gigs in variety too

re: Beast, I hope they all stay together too but I wouldn't blame Hyunseung for leaving, he just seems unhappy with some things even though he still seems to love performing. ofc it's not helping that Cube basically worked the group like mules last year to make up for their losses, and didn't promote them or Hyunseung's solo properly at all.

I see Cube negotiating to keep Beast until they have to go to the army, which anyway is just 2 years away for the '89 line. Which is literally half the group.

CL and Dara are staying, idk about Bom and Minzy, I wouldn't be surprised if they chose to not re-sign. but even if these 2 do stay I can't see them having group activities any time soon, definitely not before b*g b*ng gets shipped off to the army. and lbr for the time being Bom's only chance of working is as part of 2NE1 (Minzy's too probably...)

I see Secret as done and fx as a toss up. I see some members of Rainbow going.

Beast: I see them staying together. The only real toss up is Hyunseung. That being said, Cube gave him a solo that got nowhere but was apparently what he wanted to do(allegedly). I could see that being part of negotiations.

4minute: A sad truth is that, while I like 4minute, I really hate the idea of Hyuna staying at Cube just so they can be together. A better company could have brought her much further by now. Yes, she rakes it in and is well known but she nor 4minute have many accolades. Tbh, Hyuna has the type of attention where she could do really well if Cube just put her out with a song that pandered to the public and kept her in variety because Hyuna is really likable.

2ne1: People keep saying they are done but I doubt it(I could be wrong though). I can't see YG really letting them die out when they have an international fanbase waiting to spend money on them. 2ne1 has good ticketing power. You know for sure CL and Dara won't drop YG. I also doubt Bom would because YG is really the only company who takes people when they are still controversial. I could see Minzy considering leaving but, while I believe her to be talented, she doesn't really have much impact on the brand that is 2ne1. She also loves performing and she gets to do that on the biggest scale with YG.

f(x) could do really well this year and they may renew, but I doubt it. I can see Vic going back to China to become the Queen of China. I see Krystal leaving SME so fast, but seems as though her individual contract is longer than the group contract though so I wonder how that would work.
4minute may or may not leave after this. Hyuna is the main cash cow so they may make a really good deal with Hyuna and not the rest of them, which could still basically break up the group.
I don't think all 2NE1 members will drop YG when renewing time comes, but they could disband the group. After Bom's scandal idk what to think on them.

2NE1 are such a frustrating case. YG really needs to make a decision with them, yeah the netz still hate Bom but if 2NE1 came out with a bop like they always do they'd do well I think. YG just needs to take the plunge. Tbh the only member i could see signing for another agency is Dara bc with her current career of acting and variety she could honestly be in any other agency lbr. I doubt any other agency would sign Bom at this point and CL and Minzy's best chances are with YG lbr.

sunhwa won't resign and hana would be mad to bc ts ent have done less than nothing for her. hyosung + jieun will do solo activities - acting/singing etc and maybe stay at ts but the group is done. tbh i'm not super sad, i kinda lost interest in secret and they haven't been active for so long.

i could see hyunseung not resigning (he looks done with idol life) maybe he'll go elsewhere and release some solo stuff that would actually be promoted properly (i feel like cube gave him the solo to appease him, and then did nothing). in theory beast could go on without hyunseung (cube definitely want to hang onto them, half of their income comes from them and btob aren't raking in enough to replace them, which is down to cube's incompetence). i used to be so into beast like 5 years ago, sigh. i'm out of touch with them generally though so i could be totally wrong.

2ne1 idk - yg is a mystery to me. maybe they will renew and still release nothing. seems likely.

with f(x) it could go either way, it depends what krystal wants to do. i heard krystal resigned her individual contract with sm recently, maybe she will renew for a few more years with f(x) too. vic is also a question mark. i really hope they stick together for at least a few more albums :/

f'(x) is done for, no way is Krystal sticking around. SM won't continue will only three members. Them getting a fanclub name was their swan song.
I don't see it for any girl group on this list except maybe 4Minutes, but that would turn into some SM level fiasco just because I can see Cube trying to keep Hyuna around and not the others. And it she walked with them I could see them being petty enough to not let her keep the rights to her stuff/4Minutes to theirs. If they stayed then they'll be rotting in the basement.
I'd be surprised if Rainbow renewed, them getting Kara's resources now doesn't negate the fact that they've been treated like shit since 2009.
2NE1 is toast. I don't see any of them doing well outside of YG either. Like, you'd hear from them for a year or so before they drop off. CL won't make it in the US. She would have her career destroyed like Iggy if she pulled her schtick here. No one has time for her tomfoolery.

Hyoseong has been doing a lot of self promo on VApp, so I wouldn't be surprised if they announced they were disbanding and pursuing solo projects. Which makes me sad, since I /just/ got into them.

I'm interested to see what happens to 2ne1, since it doesn't seem like YG is giving them a comeback anytime soon and CL will probably be busy with that US debut (that's still happening right?)
