lmao so true. i found a two really good articles (one serious one humorous) about why it was left out
1. Humor (http://elitedaily.com/humor/letter-oscar-board-why-carol-snubbed/1350940/) 2. Serious (http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2016/01/carol-shut-out-best-picture-best-director) 3. Serious my personal fav (http://www.autostraddle.com/carol-didnt-get-oscar-snubbed-because-its-too-gay-it-got-oscar-snubbed-because-it-dismisses-men-324022/)
to sum it all up all the articles agree Carol was snubbed because it was about women, about lesbians & had no men in central roles and portrays all the men in the film in a negative light.
ppl are so transparent about their casual misogyny. Carol was a wonderful film & yes it might bore some people but those are the same ppl who consider Transformers 5 their favorite film so i can't trust them, only pray for them.
so many dull critics tho are so obvious when they critize it for being "dry" like you nominated 127 hours & cast away & the revenant for best picture & those films are just pretty scenery & nonstop man pain yet Carol, being the revelation it is doesn't get a Best Picture nom... ok Academy stay fake.
lol the manpain... when will it stop??? I feel obligated to see The Revenant but I'm not excited about it all. I'd rather go see Brooklyn and Carol again. \o/
See the revenant in Imax if you can. Maybe you won't care for the plot since it is about man pain but the cinematography is incredible & it's so well done plus the actors are phenomenal. I really enjoyed the revenant. Brooklyn i didn't really care for tbh because i disliked how selfish the female lead was to her boyfriend/husband, irish boyfriend & mom. It felt like a really long hallmark film to me. Which is sad since romantic peroid films are my favourite films so i really thought I'd love it. I also low key hate the creepy Italian guy she's with since he was a creep who pressured her into marrying him before she left & legit told her when they met he had a fetish for irish girls (ok he said "thing"not fetish but same thing)
I really hated those parts about the boyfriend that you mentioned. I couldn't believe she actually married him after it seemed like he didn't trust her to go overseas and cheat or something - I thought that was going to push her away. And I told my friend I saw it with that if some guy said he came to a dance because he has a "thing" for black girls I would have been like... "okay, I have to go"
lmao i've actually gotten the whole i have a thing for "xyz" girls so many times I and never talk to boys so i'm always like...... ok and then bolt. times like those make me happy I have super strict religious parents who never let me date.
i hate her boyfriend so much ugh, i cannot believe she choose to stay with him & his domineering asshole self for the rest of her life instead of staying in Ireland with the super hot, super nice, super rich guy.
i know the whole point of the story was about finding your true self & your true home and blah blah which is all very well & nice but still lol that was an awful choice. i get she loves him but she needs to love herself first!
Yeah I didn't like that she basically married the first guy she dated in the U.S. (The fact that she was so quickly drawn to Domnhall Gleeson's character showed me she needs more time to date around.) I wanted her to go back but spend more time stabilizing her new career and building a life for herself first. //imposing today's standards on a woman from the '50s
that film made me happy i was born in this century, truly i'd be lost any other time. she really should have focused more on her career/family & really though about her life instead of jumping into a life long commitment with some guy she hardly knew, plus leaving Domnhall like that was so awful. Her leaving Ireland was done in the most horrible way tbh, it made me low key dislike her. She was just so selfish & her mother had already suffered so much plus she spent so much time (months!!!) leading on poor Domnhall & she had the gall to act all outraged when her former boss called her out on the fact she's secretly married & having an affair!! like wtf you deserve to be called out on that!!
idk it was a good film but too many parts (mostly that awful boy) made me angry plus it was like a very long Hallmark film. i really wanted it to be better but no :( at least SR was phenomenal, i really like her in everything she's in.

I also wanted Carol's entire wardrobe.
