yeah, i wouldn't say i *hate* pure concepts but they never did anything for me- but for some reason, just this past week, i got super into gfriend... i guess between my admiration for their dancing, their cuteness, and the fact that my friends like them. and i just really want to root for them bc they deserve it

I generally despise "pure" concepts but I feel like them dancing way harder than the "mature" girl groups and Yuju's vocals pulls them to a higher level. They've got a lot of spunkiness. Something about their energy on stage pulls me in - they aren't just focused on working their angles, they put a ton of force into their movements.

Having a visual doesn't guarantee attention though. And gfriend literally has a member that looks like Jessica and they have eunha and sowon. They are all conventionally attractive. All idols are. It's just that standards are even higher for idols even though plenty of "visual" members seem plain to me. Those people were just looking to hate on gfriend for something and looks is the easiest especially on women. I've never understood why people say that there are no visuals in gfriend or when they say there's only one visual in a group
