they've reaaaaaally opened up on out of company collaborations since the start of last year. jonghyun was the first artist from within the company to have a non-sm artist feature on a title track with his solo: iron with "guilty pleasure" and zion.t with "deja boo". he also collaborated with younha and wheesung for his mini (and worked with philtre from planet shiver). he's worked with crush too, and composed for iu, son dam bi and lim kim but the first two were in 2013.
and then came verbal jint on taeyeon's song, zico with f(x), tiffany's upcoming song with zion.t for her solo (probably), now this and luna's featuring on one of zico's new songs as well.
i am too!!!! and i'm kind of convinced that the ~surprise success of "deja boo" (to the point where sm ended up making it a second title track) kinda warmed sm up to non-sm featurings within songs. but!! i'm not sure, tbh. taemin's comeback is gonna be mid-ish february and shinee are pretty booked in japan until the start of summer otherwise. he's made a few comments on his radio show where i got the impression that he's not really preparing for a comeback yet but it's hard to say because he's legitimately alwaaaaays working on new songs.
You predict that this will beat in longevity Suzy&Tae's (supposed) ex collab?;D It's interesting situation bc Dream still sittin on the throne and from SM perspective it would probably be better to not out do themselves but they not in control here;P
