Cheese in the Trap depicts the delicate relationship between female university student Hong Seol (Kim Go-Eun) and her senior Yoo Jung (Park Hae-Jin). Hong Seol works part-time due to her family's poor background. Yoo Jung is good looking, gets good grades, athletic and has a kind personality, but he has a dark side. Originally a webtoon series.

Cast: Kim Go-Eun, Park Hae-Jin, Seo Kang-Joon, Lee Sung-Kyung, Nam Joo-Hyuk, Park Min-Ji

Watch: Dramacool, Dramafire, Dramafever

Ep 5 was how I imagined it to be, with more focus on Seol’s neighbor and that relationship. Ep 6, on the other hand… so thrilling to see Oh Young Gon and we’re sure to get more of him in the next few episodes... and watch the world burn

Ep 6 also brings Seol-Jung vs Seol-Inho into the limelight. I’m afraid I’m more partial to one over the other now that I see the scenes in the drama. I expect the next few eps will further cement the male love interest divide.

she tried avoiding him (and exposing him lol), it failed and she almost dropped out of school lol. most of the time it seems like she's just ridding out a storm while searching for an escape route. ep 6 was the first time it seemed like she's truly into him and willing to give the relationship a try.

YJ is the kind of character I detest - throws all of those nice favors to the girl behind her back and then when she calls out some of his other shady stuff he's like "but I was so good to you and now you have to be so ungrateful?!" Can't you look past it?".
YJ thinks that with all those situations when people asked him to "let it slide" (there was compilation scene like that in one ep) now he could/should have things "forgiven" too, especially bc he was always so good for everybody, so indulgent, but also full of morals guy. Which is bs bc all cases when he cought individuals on something were resolved by him using somebody else/blackmailing somebody/not being such a good citizen, but simultanously saving his "great, well liked senior" image. He wants to eat the cake, but still have it thus rides that hypocrite route.
Inho doesn't know anything, flings himself around and acts with female lead like some schoolboy, but if I would have to choose I would pick him.

I like this drama so much, it's ruining me.
Some things i'd like to comment:
- Ep6 made me like Inho a lot, I found him annoying.
- I adore Seol, she's so cute and awesome, fave character.
- What's up with yoojung and that snail?
- Yoojung is still ?????? to me.
- Was PHJ supposed to hit his head like that at the end of ep6? I laughed so hard i cried.

Yoojung is going to do something terrible, isn't he? I am prepared, ep6 was too fluffy lol.
I can't wait until monday, i'm desperate for spoilers.

I'm living for Seo KangJoo playing InHo, I kinda feel like he toned the character down a bit but he's still very InHo, idek I just love him so much.

And I'm glad we finally get to see how creepy and shady Yoo jung is, I was kinda missing that side of him lol I hope Seol gets to see more of that Yoo jung's part as well 'cause I just want my Seol/InHo ship to sail bye

Also Jun!!! I was looking forward to see him omg my baby <3

yeah i completely agree! i'm pleasantly surprised by how well he's embodying inho, i feel he got the essence of the character + toned down the antics for a real life drama version

whereas with the girl playing inha, i think she's missing on the essence of the character and is too dependent on crazy physicality which comes off to me as contrived overacting

Personally I think Inho is better looking than yoojung (the actors I mean) but I'm still team yoojung. Yoojung and seol are so adorable together. I don't read the webtoon so idk what will happen, but I hope seol brings the best out of yoojung because he really needs it.

lol even if seol sees 'that' dark side of his she still stayed (but i read it raw so idk what was going inside her head)

watching this along with moorim school gives me happy monday and tuesday vibes, and i watch remember every saturday. three diff types of kdramas every week is some kind of stress release

omg i'm scared to see how evil yoojung is....I didn't read the webtoon, but everybody says he has a dark side 0.o lol I'm not ready to hate him yet haha

but I was like wtf when the stalker said that Yoojung made him approached Seol.... mmmm mm shady

this is my new drama crack.

I love how messed up YJ is! And the fact that HS actually has a "stranger danger" radar (probably because of her stalker history), most female leads always over look male characters' flaws, but she fully calls out his bs.

I wish it would get even darker, everyone is so messed up and evil lol, but I also really love the fluff. idc who she ends up with, but I would very much appreciated if she gets to eventually make out with both of them. they've both done some douche things and fucked up her life, so 90% of the time I'm #teamnobody

Also: if YJ really wants to fuck with HS's mind, he should just tell her the truth...that all the nice/decent people around her are actually ruining her life and/or criminals lol

I CANT WAIT TO WATCH EP 6 TONIGHTTTT then I'll come and flop all over your thread op

I've been spoiling the drama for myself by reading the LINE webtoon, which is so far behind, but generally around the same page as the drama, so I'm pretty excited of a couple of things even if I'd already spoilt the scenes lol one update every Sunday is a sad, sad situation but I'm too noob to try the scanlations by Oddsquad or something

I'm still firmly Team Yoojung despite the shady af show he's been bestowing on all of us. He gives me the same vibe as Christian Grey, as in there's a legit plot device that'll explain to me why he's the kind of person that he is, whether good or bad. Inho in both webtoon and drama kind of annoys me, even if I have to (grudgingly) acknowledge his dorky personality.

But there's just something so endearing about the way Yoojung tentatively reaches for Seol's hands..... Therefore I'm a goner. Lol. Yes, I am very easily amused and enticed.

Loving the pace of the show so far tbh except all TA Heo's jealous shouts make me get a headache lol

From: [identity profile] cafetin99.livejournal.com
Ehhh Christian Grey is not a good example. He is an abusive asshole in all ways: sexually, mentally, he's controlling and suffocating, etc. No matter what problems you have/had, still, those are not excuses for what YJ or CG did.

Sorry if I'm buttin' in.

the more i watch the more sociopath vibes i get from Yoojung .... can't trust that guy

seol is the classic lady in distress *sigh* it's the kind of female lead i can't barely sympathyze with ..... at least we get to hear her thoughs because all this "it's creepy but he's doing it for me so it's fine even romantic" and how she find all his ways so charming really puzzle me

i will just try to not get too attached to inho, if things go on like this (sociopath always get what they want from people) seol will keep liking yoojung and inho will end up with a broken heart

reading netizens reactions, seems like these two characters presented on ep. 7 are really a nightmare lol i wonder why

i think it's interesting/fun that this drama gives you two very different favorite male leads of most things korean, and the female lead is equally likely to go for either one. with that said, i already spoiled the webtoon for myself and know who she's currently with in that version, but i sure as hell hope that'll change when this version develops more. inho's not perfect (and he's certainly not an unapologetic free-loader like inha), but i literally get major trust issues vibes from yoo jung and no matter how cute some of his scenes with hong seol are, i don't think i'll ever be able to get over that. even if there were misunderstandings when yoo jung and hong seol first met that made her mistakenly distrust him, he is generally a very shady guy because he genuinely doesn't think that anything he's ever done was truly wrong (e.g. baek inho), which makes him very volatile and untrustworthy imo (even if his feelings for hong seol may be true). but even if i like inho more, his interactions with hong seol are more like those of two comfortable, same-aged friends rather than of people where there are romantic feelings involved (this isn't always the case, ofc).

tl;dr yoo jung's a sociopath and i kinda don't want hong seol to end up with either one.

I dont like Yoo Jung and i hope that she doesn't end up with him but hes the lead so i guess that pretty set. In Ha annoys me so much because she is over the top and she whines too much. In Ho is bae, I wonder whats gonna happen to him and if he'll play the piano again.

tbh this is the first drama im fully committed to after angry mom

This is such an interesting drama! The slight thriller vibe esp in the first 2 eps and every ep changing my opinion of Jung...is he good or evil? But I still think he's just a very misunderstood guy (also lacking empathy for others) I love Seol as a character, she's very mature and rational (actually better portrayed in the webtoon imo but I love Kim Goeun's portrayal nonetheless) and I look forward to the rest of the journey of their relationship and her (hopefully) changing Jung for the better.

I'm only on season 3 of the webtoon but why is everyone so evil (and sexist and racist) in it???

there are so many things to comment on but my mind is totally blank rn because i was so shocked that they already brought up in ha's backstory. i mean.. that's... from season 3 of webtoon. but it actually fits well in context of how they are executing current storyline. her flashback was one of my most favorite scenes in webtoon so i'm really glad it exists within drama version too.
also i'm not sure if i like the way they dealt with joo yong/yoon seop relationship in drama version. i actually assumed that they decided to get rid off that storyline as whole but these eps proved me wrong. i wish they left it aside solely because now impact of landlord grandson's storyline really isn't the same. and in general i wanted longer arc for it. but this is a minor complaint as a reader with my own preferences ofc.
but i still find it weird how much they are rushing plot because this way they will reach season 4 of webtoon by next week lmao.

drama >>>> webtoon. i dont like how hong's been tone down but i actually think this works for me. even tho she's quieter i never feel like she's less central to the story so i'm down with it.

*insert usual comment about how perfect SKJ is as BIH*

i cant believe i can now officially say i am pleased with PHJ as yoo jung. i've accepted his presence in the role.

I hate Yoo Jung so much....like I literally can't stand any of his scenes with Hong Seol and I just go on my phone instead.....
That In Ho crying in the rain scene hurt my heart - also when the kids were crowding around him, so cute~
This drama really feels like they're gonna set it up so Yoo Jung is endgame :( yo why'd he have to threaten Hong's neighbor and his bf... I really wanted to slam him into the ground

Something ain't right with that boy, he's off by a longshot. I laughed so hard at the end of ep 5 when YJ was upset that ppl thought he was strange. You are. The way he played FIFA looked strange lol. It reminded me of a scene in Sherlock where we were suppose to feel bad that ppl didn't like Sherlock growing up because he was a strange kid. Like, nobody liked you cuz you're a psycho, everyone sees it.
I hope Seol can get away from this boy.
I also wanted to fade In Ha so bad. Then I saw her flashback scene. I still wanna fade her but I'd feel hella bad.

I don't like InHo. I read the manhwa tho, so must be it. They toned down so much of In Ho annoying character.

1)He blames everyone about his life
2)Doesn't do much to change his life
3)Isn't grateful
4)Screams and drag people around to buy him food,
5)Like Jung, he also takes advantage of things/situations on his favor but judges Jung for it
5)Put his sister down so much in the past, and now throws the blame into others for what she is
6)Was pretty arrongant and looked people down before his accident
7)Is pretty agressive in the Manhwa but drama toned it down

Inho's been toned down a lot into the classic kdrama second lead puppy - kinda noisy but endearing and protective of the heroine/makes her laugh. While Jung retains a lot of the 'is he a serial killer' aura and is pinging Seol's radars hard even here (though last ep has them getting more comfortable with each other as a couple)......obviously, one is way more likeable on the surface.
