While filming, the energy felt was comfortable, like the two of you were longtime friends. Did you know each other well?

Rebecca: I had known about SNSD well so even from before visiting Seoul, I was looking forward to today’s meeting.

Hyoyeon: Same for me. I’ve watched a lot of exercise videos but Rebecca’s videos are especially well conveyed and effective. It’s full of exercise methods that deliver big results in a short time. I knew she had been famous for the Miley Cyrus exercise but seeing her in person is memorable as she is pretty, with a tight body line.

Rebecca: Hyoyeon, you are very beautiful as well!

Rebecca, you became well-known worldwide through your exercise videos on the internet, right?

Rebecca: I enjoyed exercise for a long time. And I dreamt of a life that gave inspiration and impact on people. I didn’t know that dream would come true this fast. More than anything, I consider it important to enjoy exercising, so I’m more excited and happier as the positive reaction to exercise is expanding. These days, I’m spurred on by the reactions of the fans.

When did you start to have an interest in exercising?

Rebecca: For me, when I was about 3 years old? Haha. From ballet and tap dance to sports like soccer and hockey, I did a variety of exercises.

Hyoyeon: It’s difficult to point out a specific time period but since I was young, I was on the active side. So I never had a compulsion to force myself but I’ve always been able to diligently exercise while enjoying it. Stretching and simple exercises before dance practice was already a habit for my body. Like walking to places that are close, I had always been doing routine exercises.

What kind of exercises do you enjoy?

Rebecca: I tend to enjoy both indoor and outdoor exercises. Of course, I try to exercise daily without fail. Walking my dog, Alfie, is one of the important exercises to me. For indoor exercises, I go to lessons at the gym or do weight training. I like yoga so I do hot yoga about four times a week. I also like outdoor exercises like golf and field hockey. I have past experience as a hockey player in southern England.

Hyoyeon: I do stretching, ab and muscle training exercises every day and I tend to do several, variety of exercises. I enjoy outdoor exercises like golf, swimming and scuba diving more than exercises at the gym. I try to play tennis at least once a week. Tennis is really a total body exercise. Also, if you look at the amount of exercise, there is no exercise as high in exertion as dance. As expected, the body lines of the SNSD members have all been trained through exercise and dance.

How do you stay in shape Omona? Any new workout trends you want to try in the New Year? I think I'm gonna try to go to more Zumba classes. Dance it out like HY.

I go Spinning in the morning 5-6 times a week, and I also like running (when it's not balls cold outside like right now) and riding my bike! I like exercise. I used to hate it and dreaded it, but now I can't miss it for too long or I feel antsy. I've lost 70lbs (33kg) over the last two years, so my life did a 180. WHO AM I? Also bb Hyo looks good.

I actually just got back from the gym and I want to collapse sob, that's what I get for stuffing myself at christmas! I usually go 6 times a week (2 x kickboxing, 2 x pump and 2 x yoga/pilates). I've really gotten into exercise this year tbh

Both girls look great!

i just started exercising seriously this year. i really enjoy kick boxing and spin. for the next year, i want to try lifting. but ngl i'm super intimidated for the equipment. it looks like it could kill a man if not handled correctly.

From: [identity profile] typhlogirl.livejournal.com
If you do want to start lifting I defs recommend you get one of the personal trainers at your gym to take you through how to do everything correctly, because you're right - bad technique will result in nothing but injuries.

Don't be intimidated, though! Just start light and go from there. It's addictive tbh - I always feel so strong/empowered when I finish, lmao

She's so hot, omg.

I used to be really active, but my health has taken it's toll on my body. I only do some basic workouts and yoga to stay in semi shape. I thankfully eat quite healthily and have a dislike for overly sweet and sugary food (not drinks tjough Orz) as well as fried food, so I don't have to worry much about overeating or eating too unhealthily.

I do have my allowances once a month.

I've been wanting to take up battle ropes if I can take it.

I actually plan working out in the new year. I found a good YouTube channel to follow that has different workout routines that I can start at home with before moving on to s gym. I use to do weight training in high school and I loved it. Most of me working out is to tone up, as well as make more room for veggies and fruits in my diet and slow down on the crappy foods.

I am dead from those photos

I do step, zumba and aqua classes once a week - still too scared to hit the gym by myself! but I really wanna work on my arms and abs more because right now I'm just focusing on improving my overall fitness and endurance before working on more focused areas.

Kickboxing, dance, pilates, yoga, and I've recently started getting into aqua workouts and really like it. I don't really need to work out but I always feel great afterwards so I won't be stopping anytime soon lmao

I relied heavily on running when it was nice, and I started doing Tae Kwon Do this year (which I enjoy a lot). Now that it's cold I've been too lazy so obviously it shows :c

I've been trying to get back to the gym though. I know everyone says this but really after the new year it's back on track for me. I'm just not giving up party foods until then :P Gotta enjoy end of the year.

holy shit she looks amazing. THOSE THIGHS!!

i've been doing zumba these past few months, and i live in a very walkable city so i also try to take advantage of that :) i also live close to the beach where you have to go down through a LOT of stairs, so when i don't zumba that's where i get my exercise lol

/body envy/

I get a one hour team sport per week and this summer I've started jogging! Currently at 7km three times a week, working to get my tempo up to 10km per hour. Lately, I've also been thinking I should start doing exercises to strengthen and thighten my muscles/body... I don't have money for the gym though so I'm still figuring out lol. And weight - I always need to lose weight. I haven't been doing it right this time around though so nothing is happening there ugh. (I easily get obsessive over maintaining my body and health though as I've had body issues alot in the past so I need to keep myself in check for a bit...)

10km in an hour is my dream! Haha, I've been running for like a year+, but my best 10K time is still 1:06 :( Though I can do a 5K in under 30 minutes. Once I hit 5K, I get tired.

This (www.hs.fi/blogi/juoksublogi/a1448512885561) article in Helsingin Sanomat (the biggest Finnish newspaper) claims that, apart from running, there's only three strength exercises you need to keep up basic muscle strength: push-ups (three rounds with an increasing amount of repetitions (they recommend starting with 8, 10 and 12 (or as many as you're able to do in the last round)), squats (sit down to at least 90 degrees and do several rounds of repetitions so that the duration of the exercise is at least 5 mins; you can alternate by doing rear lunges or squats with only one leg; using weights is recommended) and planks (stay in plank for as long as you're able to (at least 1 minute); you can alternate by doing a side plank every once in a while).

I suppose starting with those could be a good idea if you haven't figured out what else to do yet. They recommend doing the exercises at least twice a week immediately after running so that your rest days really are rest days. In the comments someone also recommends substituting the planks for pull-ups and someone else recommends burpees instead of push-ups. Hope this helps!

Oh, that sounds like a good plan indeed! And I always like doing those sort of exercises as a way of stretching during my warming up/cooling down. Thank you for the tip!

Yeah, I actually do, haha. They were great when I was really unfitt and couldn't afford to go to a gym. She is really energetic and motivational and if I'm short on time I can just grab some heavier weights at home and do a workout she has on youtube.

i find it hard to work out cause 1) i hate jogging 2) i can't drive so no gym. but i've just got a bike so i'm hoping that i'll be able to start using that more and more and build up to cycling to work while i can't drive (work's a bit far and there's some hills but a bus ticket is £4.50 and i love money...). i've also started trying to learn simple kpop dances so while that's not a big workout in a way it does at least get me active.

she looks great, she really fits these kinds of photoshoot. i do still miss her long hair but i like that they're beginning to abandon the bleach blonde and to dip dyes & browns, etc.

THIS IS ME!!!

Plus that one time I had a gym membership I really failed to use it lol. Running makes me wanna hate myself but I wanna look for dance classes cuz I seem to enjoy those more than regular cardio.

do it! i definitely feel like with dancing it's more than just working out, it's working on a routine & your own performance etc so if you hate exercising for the sake of exercising it's probably a good alternative. also it's supposed to be really good for your self-confidence etc haha, i wouldn't know, i was never very good at it :'D

i always have this idea that i'll get fit and then see if i like running afterwards...but for me now it's like, 30 seconds in and i'm not sure my throat even exists anymore. i think the way i run is probably borked too, i managed to give myself an inflamed hip when i first tried it.

this is me!

I literally feel like I'm gonna die when I run so that's a no for me. I do have a gym near by but I'm just not into gyms, I don't want to go alone lol

Biking seems like such an attractive option for me and I love riding it but I don't have one and motherfuckers are SO expensive. I think I'll invest in one this upcoming year tho.
And same about the kpop dances! I basically have no rhythm but I gotta work out and I love kpop so imma try to learn some basic dances.

i just ran into a secondhand one in a charity shop on monday and i turned to my mum and was like...mum would it be weird if i impulse bought a bike? £70 later she's still a bit weirded out & i've not yet managed to get the damn handlebars raised but baby steps. it's been serviced and has a six month warranty so it's a start. i'm not going to be doing anything heavy duty on it but i definitely want to work towards cycling to work.

&yes! i've started with some simple girl group dances and it's surprisingly easy if you search up the mirrored versions on youtube and don't hold yourself to any ridiculous standard (or don't look in the mirror lol). i don't tend to do it long enough to break a sweat but at least i'm doing something active with my laptop, haha.

Ugh body envyyyy & she looks so gooooood

I dance for legs+core, & spin flag/rifle sabre (+tech/teach for my old HS' colour guard) for arms/shoulders (I just can't quit you, marching band...), but don't ever ask me to go to the gym, lol. I also surf & swim as often as I can get my butt in the ocean (which, living close to the beach in FL, is def not a problem lol).

she looks so good!! especially in that pic where she's leaning against the mirror.

Her booty isn't that big but it looks on point!!

I don't work out :c I got diagnosed with UC like two years ago and I have the hardest time gaining weight so I just stopped working out because I didn't want to lose the little weight I've gained :c it's starting to be counterproductive though so this upcoming year I'm going to start working out lightly. I can't go hard (at least not until I know my limits) because of my intestines and shit so for now I have yoga in mind. I also would love biking bc it would also work as entertainment but I don't have a bike so boo...
RN I think I'm gonna start learning some basic kpop dances. I have no rhythm so it will be a challenge lmao any recs on easy dances btw???

i've been thinking about trying to establish a ddr regimen for myself lmao... it always gets me panting and sweating ugh. even though i'm not very good i think it might help? just to get some more physical activity in every day. maybe combine it with a little hand weights?

DDR is a great workout, esp if you're doing standard or heavy mode! I know when I do heavy mode for like an hour, I burn 600-800 or so calories. But I play the "hard" songs (like Max 300, Healing Vision, etc) so it's probably a little less for others.

Light isn't that bad either :) Don't feel bad! I've been playing DDR for like 8+ years, and I still can't play a lot of songs on heavy or challenge. Forget all the new ones. If you just keep playing, it'll come!
