Netizen Relays Shocking News About “Three Meals a Day” Puppies Minki and Sapphire

Some shocking and sad news about the mascot of “Three Meals a Day,” Minki, and her puppy Sapphire was relayed.

While Eddie, Minki’s other puppy, has found a loving home with 2PM‘s Taecyeon, it seems that the other two dogs were not as lucky.

Recently on the official “Three Meals a Day” viewer forum, a post with the title, “Update on Minki and Sapphire” was uploaded. The post contained shocking pictures of Sapphire (above).

In the photo, the poor puppy does not look like he has been cared for at all. His fur is a mess, and he looks like he has no energy.

The original poster revealed that he had gone to visit the puppies, only to find them in a bad state. The netizen said, “The grandmother who owned Minki sold her off for 100,000 won (approximately $86).” It seemed like the previous owner did not keep track of Minki, so it is unknown where Minki is at this point. While Sapphire remains with the grandmother, the poster revealed that Sapphire was being kept in awful condition, saying, “[Sapphire] was crawling with ticks. He looked weaker and more down than the other dogs there.”

The poster then asked for help, saying, “It would be great if we could send Sapphire some essential equipment and medication. He needs continuous help and love instead of just being a cute thing on display.”

Or, you know, just take him away from someone that clearly can't care for him properly. Irresponsible and negligent pet owners, whatever their excuse, are some of the worst people in my eyes. Maybe it's because I own two dogs and could never fathom not giving them proper care, who knows. If one dog is being mistreated, they all probably are. I've seen enough animal hoarders to know that it's usually not exclusive to just one animal when the person owns multiple.

ugh people who neglect/abuse animals are the worst. it breaks my heart to read news on stray cats being tortured and left to die and I often wish for the same to happen to the perpetrators tbh

i really can't stand animal abuse/neglect! i hope someone saves these pets because it can't just be one dog that's being neglected if the owner owns more. the sad look in his eyes outright kills me inside, pets should be happy!!

it's indicative of the exploitation of these animals for profit when they're neglected and treated like shit as soon as they're no longer useful for some fucking show. anyone who knew of this woman's inability to (or lack of) care for her pets and still left them there, save for eddie, is guilty in my eyes. this is evidently not the worst case of animal abuse/neglect any one of us will ever see, but it's still fucked up that only one person spoke up when i'm sure many more than that know about the conditions these animals are in. you can't save every pet from neglect/abuse, but it certainly doesn't hurt to save as many as you can. i hope taecyeon has been alerted of this and maybe he can help find a better home for them. otherwise, merely sending supplies to the owner won't end the cycle of abuse.

as a (mother) owner of a dog, this is really irresponsible. instead of sending medicine or necessities, i think someone should just adopt the poor dog: someone who will be able to take care of her. i doubt the problem lies with the necessities. the current owner sounds like they just don't care and can't be bothered with proper pet care. poor dogs. i hope they find minki soon, or at least i hope she's in good hands :(

Eh the thing is, there's really no validity to this claim and tons of dogs growing up in the country don't live under the same conditions as dogs in the city - like they're less of "family" and more of "pets" closer to livestock. It's really not the tvn's nor the grandma's responsibility to notify the public how the dogs are doing and as long as the dogs aren't outright abused (which I really don't think they are, more like they live in more natural state) the netizens don't have much bases in criticizing the grandma.

well that's just the thing though, i don't know if i trust the validity of the claims to begin with - this guy just randomly visited someone's house, a private property, and decided it's okay to invade their space and organize donations to send etc, without any discussion with the owner. if all the dogs were in clear state of abuse then yeah i'd agree that the grandma is up to something bad and she's not fit to raise these dogs etc. but this guy claims it's just sapphire who's like this, which makes me think he's just biased towards this particular dog.
aside from the fact that the dog isn't groomed i really don't see that the dog is in such a bad state - all the dogs in the country are raised like this, left more freely and just kinda there.

i don't even agree with this guy saying the dog is just being a cute thing on display, it's not like the grandma is making money off these dogs by showing them to public and etc. tvn just borrowed these dogs for filming and returned them to the owners.

Did no one want to adopt mommie and other son before this? Someone (in Korea)'s got to want to adopt them now.

I'm a little scared for Minki... In my experience, human-raised cats will go MIA and may come back but human-raised dogs tend to stick close to home (ofc, my experience is not reflective of all cats and dogs, and I also live in the city/suburbs). Somebody find and adopt Mom too!
