Super Junior’s Ryeowook Confirms Solo Debut in 2016

In a recent interview with PlayDB, Super Junior member Ryeowook confirmed he will be making his solo debut in 2016!

The interview centered on his role as Christopher in “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” and Ryeowook talked about the challenges of his first play. However, he also mentioned his plans for an upcoming solo album when the interviewer asked about his plans going forward.

Ryeowook answered, “I want to show myself as the singer Ryeowook before I have to enlist next year, so I’m currently preparing for that. My album should be coming out soon, too. In the end, I just want to show whatever image I can on stage, whether that image be as a singer, as a variety talent, or as an actor. I really feel that it would be great if everyone could be happy because of me.”

I guess there's gonna be lots of SJ solos/subunits this year since they obvs can't make a group comeback with only 5-6 members (maybe even less if Ryeowook and Kyuhyun finally enlist).

Finally! I don't follow Super Junior that closely but he's one of the few that I can see having a successful solo. Also I hope he won't go Kyuhyun's road and do only ballads

In the two Immortal Songs 2 episodes where he won, he actually sang more upbeat, playful songs. I definitely think there's a chance he might go the non-ballad route, he's more versatile than Kyuhyun in this case IMHO.

Ah, I don't blame Kyuhyun, didn't he join SM to become a ballad singer at first? He could do well with other genres because he has a rich tone, but I guess it's just not what he wants to do!

legit fave. i absolutely adore his voice, his solo got me through year 11 and 12. and his voice complements kyuhyun's slightly colder voice so well, kry bounced off each other so beautifully back in the day. and he's magnificent. i never thought he was attractive, but the moment i saw him flick his hair in boom boom i was gone. and his friendship with heechul!!!

Congratulations Wookie! I'm so excited for this, his singing style and tone is the most unique and recognizable in SJ, plus he doesn't have a reputation that imposes musical styles (unlike Yesung and Kyuhyun) so he can pretty much do anything with his solo album.

I hope a Yesung solo follows after ;A;
