anyway, i can't even follow this show. shows like win, twice (which is, like, the only one that i've watched and it was difficult to swallow a lot of the time still), ect. are too hard for me. it's rough seeing all the trainees go through all they have to as trainees with the added bonus of having to be pitted against each other and this show??? is just going to be a mess???? like not even a small percentage are going to make the cut and most won't even have a chance, it's sad. at least with groups like akb48, ect. they're split into subunits, rotated, ect.

also: i'm confused about why mbk threw members of dia into the mix when they're apparently still an active group unless something went on behind the scenes that we're not aware of which i wouldn't put past mbk b/c they're as good as the devil, but.

Part of me is happy that Dani and the Pledis girls are getting to see the light of day again, but this really isn't how I wanted it to happen.

As for JYP sticking Somi (and possibly Natty and the Chae sisters) on this, I am lost for words. I'd rather have to wait for 2-3 years to see them again when they (hopefully) debut than see them on yet another Mnet reality show, within months of the last one. It's just cruel to do this to them.

as someone who actually likes AKB (don't ask me why, I have spent 3 years trying to figure that out) I obviously have to compare them.

These girls are super in sync, in ways that other massive groups have never managed. They are pretty good at doing the generic kpop gg dance moves, but that song...

It was not written for a large group of singers and that showed. There was nowhere near enough harmonisation, if there was any (I'm watching on my phone, so I couldn't really pick any out).

Plus the outfits were yawn. We get it, they're students, but I hate that trope in both kpop and jpop. But I guess it's easy to buy uniforms in bulk....whatever.

Honestly, I was disappointed in the song because they could have had something that showed that the trainees can do something other than dance and wink at the camera but I guess that's what's important in girl groups. Stage was cool tho.

I hate these survivals shows (it's a survival show, right?), I haven't even watched Sixteen. These are KIDS they shouldn't be put under so much pressure from their companies, from the TV show and from other singers around them that will try anything they can to make it. Only a few will make it anyway and I'm willing to bet that the producers already know which members they want to push forward. It's unfair and cruel.

I feel bad for Chanmi, she has been around for a while now, trained in SM for SNSD, debuted with two groups, was kicked out... All this while being a decent singer, if I remember well? Damn
Somi as well, she already did Sixteen...
And I find really suspicious that two girls from Dia are sent there. Is it some weird way of getting them some attention? Is something happening behind the scene? Are they disbanding? Idk...

Probably for attention. DIA will continue to promote without them. Then they can rejoin. But it's kinda risky with that company tbh. If one of them makes the top 10 but the other doesn't, they might just chose to let one rejoin and not the other. MBK is ruthless.

In general I wish that idols debuted older, especially girls who are sexualised as children, and I hate survival shows. I find them too dangerous for the kids' well being.
Training system... it's the same basis behind closed door, you're right, which is dangerous in itself but there's so much more about being on tv...
For example there's the risk to be edited in the wrong way to make somebody else's career take off (we're talking about Mnet after all) - but we're talking about 14-16 year-old girls? There's also having to deal with being a public figure already...
I would never say that the training system is a paradise but survival shows always seem a lot worse to me - and given how training is already tough... I really don't like this :/

It just seems.. so expensive, and an organizational nightmare? To make a show with that many trainees... just for this performance, all those outfits and the stage creation and coordinating it all. why would you want to bring that on yourself as a tv show producer.. I don't see what having so many trainees brings to the show rather than just having like.. half of that, or a quarter of that...

The Five Dolls bullying rumors were never confirmed, so take it with a grain of salt, it wasn't as serious at the T-Ara bullying rumors so keep that in mind as well
