Sydney newspaper displays incredible taste in KPOP albums

This year Sydney hosted no less than four K-pop groups – all of them boy bands. Two more are due in February, when Boyfriend and JJCC​ play Carriageworks for Chinese New Year. But three of the best albums of the year were released by women: the Wonder Girls' '80s freestyle treat Reboot; Brown Eyed Girls' science-and-maths themed opus Basic and solo singer IU's self-produced mini album Chat-Shire. Japan's Kyary Pamyu Pamyu​ pulled an all-ages and all-tribes crowd when she toured here in 2014. Let South Korea's ladies show they can do the same.

Even beyond everything that happened I thought the album was boring and nothing new/outstanding from her, I only really liked 1 or 2 songs that I forgot the name of. You're a lot more polite than I am lmao.

havent listened to basic at all bc the title song was meh...i love ga-in but idky i just didnt bother with the album :( maybe i should give it another chance

i loved 23's concept and the songs themselves (especially Glasses, i love it) but its just too bad that the mess that was zeze happened. sometimes i feel like it was blown way out of proportion with all that lolita bullshit but i also think that iu deserves all the criticism for zeze's issue.

criticism for being careless in basically putting zeze (5yo child mind you) and "sexy" in the same sentence? and for allowing zeze drawn with fishnet stockings in that pose to be printed? and then still performing the song and putting up that image of zeze despite all that has happened?

thats p much all i remember and i agree with her apology, iirc, that she was inexperienced and thus made mistakes.

i don't think the apology has proven that the claims are "false". tbh idk what "claims" are u referring to, i would call it "mistakes" which she half-heartedly apologized for but imho she does totally deserve all the criticism for allowing the events that are related to zeze to happen.

zeze issue was astronomically blown out of proportion. half of the things iu said on the matter were translated wrong (the apology, god, omona tore iu to shreds for 'im sorry if you were offended' when that was not what she said at all, the translation was wrong) the article that started it all was basically bullshit, the whole thing was started by people who did not give a crap about any possible harm coming to children (lmao) but just wanted to see iu go down. no one would be calling iu a pedophile (godddddddddd) if it hadn't been for salty super junior fans who hated iu for sleeping with eunhyuk.

the best proof of that is that there hasn't been a single cry of outrage (that this time would be warranted) after psy's daddy mv came out. the part where he's in a kid's body making gross gestures at ha ji won is both sexist and disgusting if you think about the fact he's supposed to be an elementary schooler. but somehow every children's rights activist from the iu issue vanished from the face of the earth :/

(sorry for ranting at you, the whole thing was really frustrating to watch and i needed to let it out. i'm not saying iu didnt make a single mistake but it was ridiculous what people where saying about it at the time)
