It doesn't sound like he's saying "Veni Vidi Vici" at all lol either way he's saying it (the v or the w) it just sounds like he's saying ready ready ready or something like that
They really didn't need that's break down of the lyrics at the end. I had convinced myself Zico was not trying to say veni vidi vici the whole time, but then they spelled it out at the end lol. Anyway, seems like an ok song, but it doesn't really grab me.
really? I'm 90% sure Vici is not the way he is saying it, that it sound like "which". I'm looking it up and nowhere it's like he saids it. Not attacking you, I'm legit curious.
He's saying "weni widi wiki", I've seen people saying that's that the original latin pronunciation so I'm taking their word for it since I wouldn't know, ha.
Since the beginning I didn't said it for the W or C/K but because I thought the last "i" should be pronounce and he is not doing it. I should have explained myself. Is that wrong (to pronounce the last "i")?. I kind of feel bad that this post end up being more about this than about his song. LOL Edit because I just saw that you wrote weekee at the end. English is not my first language so I guess it will be like is "wiki" to me. Thanks for the explanation. Don't need to even trouble yourself with answering me again bb hahaha
Right??? I thought so as well! Wasn't Caesar pronounced with a "k" in the beginning as well? Since the German word 'Kaiser' (= emperor) is derived from that, if I remember correctly ... I just looked through some sites, and I think no one is really sure. A good amount of people seem to believe that it was pronounced in old Latin in the way that he is pronouncing it in the MV (lol, this sentence structure ... sorry).
So...we're just not going to comment on the casting That's fine, that's cool ANYWAY! I like the song but the way he pronounces 'Veni Vidi Vici' makes my eye twitch. Maybe it's the 'right' way in terms of that's how it was originally said but lbr, no one says it the Latin way
My best friend studied Latin as a career (apart from other things) and she doesn't pronounce it like that. Veni and Vidi he is saying it okay if we use old latin (let's give him a pass) but for vici is not correct in old latin, "new" latin or the italian version which is the most common. Lol I think I answer you like three times in different posts the last minutes.
I actually love the song but I stopped watchign th MV halfway through cuz I'm not here for using white girls as props in your MV to seem more "hip hop"
Oh white girls? Idk, they all looked like woc to me. I think at least two or three were black too... I do agree that there was a prop vibe to them. It was an extremely dated idea of what hip hop videos look like. He can be more creative and if he really wanted black girls in the vid, he could have flown them over or cast some Black-Asian girls to be in the video. Oh well
too true, I clicked out too early. I liked the main girl at the start (in the robe thing?? she was cute) but once I saw the white girl on the left during the car scene I clicked out. I guess I just assumed it was gonna be like Gary's Shower Later video (shudder) having woc dancing sexy in front of expensive cars is my least favorite part of hip-hop, and it irks me to see a young korean kid playing into that.
Looks like they had a black girl, a few white girls, maybe a latina? And the one with the blue robe is Filipino-Black. They did this in America [look at me knowing everything ;p].
I was expecting the dancing girls to be worse than it was. Only the scene in front of the car was awkward. The song is good but all I hear is ready ready ready
