f(x)’s Krystal Cast as Lead Actress for New Chinese Drama

Krystal of f(x) has been cast as the female lead of the Chinese drama “Graduation Season,” according to a representative from SM Entertainment, the management agency of f(x). She will be attending the press conference for the launch of the drama, which will take place at the Shangri La Hotel in Wenzhou.

According to the related personnel in China, “Graduation Season” is about the young people in the fashion industry who graduate from university, and start their first job.”

Meanwhile, f(x) has finished the promotion of “4 Walls,” and will hold a solo concert in Seoul Olympic Park on January 30 and 31 of next year.

It's both surprising and not to see all these kpop stars popular and making bank in China. Are these the ones that dub actors over so it doesn't matter if they can speak well or not?

yup 99% of mainland dramas are dubbed. Even if they keep the original voice, they get the actors to re-dubbed themselves (lol) post-production.

It's like indian cinema, in most regional indian film industries (these days its rare in bollywood) often only male lead and few supporting actors dub their own voices. There are even awards for best dubbing :p A lot of actors don't even speak the lang they act in? I always found it weird. India has National Awards, kind of big prestigious and government-related awards given to filmmakers and actors. They only allow people who dubbed their own voice.

I remember reading an article about how all c-dramas (and China makes like 1000 dramas a year) are dubbed by a select group of like 12 people, if you watch 2 Chinese dramas at the same time (with your eyes closed) you'll realize it's all the same 12 voices lol. And Hu Ge is the only actor that dubs himself often (and he even dubs other people) because he's at the level of a voice-actor.

Why would she be getting paid that much? It'd be her debut project in China and the company isn't necessarily associated with high quality productions. So £10,000 per episode sounds pretty fair?

£10,000 -20,000 is what she's getting in Korea. Koreans go to China because the lowest pay there is £40,000 (for Koreans) per episode and £100,000 (for Chinese). Rain got paid about $6 million in total for his debut drama.

Oh thats really good. She is better with comedy for sure, but who knows maybe with time shell improved. She is now the best sm actress anyway
