Synopsis

Is there more to school than just grades? Kang Yeon Doo (Jung Eun Ji) is a peppy cheerleader who is popular at school because of her sunny personality. But when she transfers to an elite high school where grades and school rankings are stressed, she feels like an outcast because of her less-than-stellar grades. She also clashes with Kim Yeol (Lee Won Geun), a student who seems to have it all with great looks and great grades. Fellow cheerleader Seo Ha Joon (Ji Soo) also feels the pressures to do well academically but also harbors a family secret that detracts from his focus. Kwon Soo Ah (Chae Soo Bin) is pushed into cheerleading by her mother to boost her resume, but she realizes that she has a talent for it. All the students have to try to measure up to the school brainiac, Ha Dong Jae (Cha Hak Yeon). Can Yeon Doo survive in such a high-pressure environment? “Sassy Go Go” is a 2015 South Korean drama series directed by Lee Eun Jin.

Soompi commenters (yes I'm trash I know I'm that desperate to read comments lol) were pretty split on their reactions lol it's practically opposite polar ends... There's things that I hope the show can resolve in two last eps but holy shit I spent Ep 10 crying full of emotions the both times i watched it :(

Ppl hate Sooah so much for her blatant craycray-ness overall but somehow I really felt for her and I really want her to start trusting the rest of the group ;;;;; hope the ending is fitting enough for all of them cries I don't remember feeling this strongly for any high school drama lol

Eunji can improve still her acting chops but wow her crying scenes are A+++ here

I used to feel bad for Soo Ahh but she legit tried to kill someone, fuck her tbh.

Yeol and Yeondoo are adorable. Can they just include Hajoon and make it OT3?

I know I should feel for Soo Ah, but I don't. I'm not there. Everybody, ESPECIALLY teenagers, can and will fall on hard times, but that's no excuse to purposely put others in danger or push someone down the stairs because you can't own up to your fuck-ups (which everyone also has).

Also, I didn't sign up for this Ha Joon pain. I started weeping about it a couple episodes ago, but it still hurts when he finally sees where Yeon Doo's heart lies. He doesn't deserve this, lol.

a character like sooah doesn't deserve a redemption arc like this. she hasn't even fully suffered the consequences for all her actions. her mother just "took care" of everything. having been emotionally abused from young can explain why she behaved like that, but it doesn't excuse it at all. she KNEW that she was wrong from the beginning when she got real king wrongfully closed down but she didn't care and never wanted to admit she was wrong. maybe i'm just a vindictive person but i don't think she deserves complete forgiveness from her peers so easily. i couldn't watch the last part of ep10 cos i was just so angry with the way it turned out.

i don't even understand why ha dongjae deigned to keep her company. she tried to kill his best friend!!!!

Legit saw the Sooah-attempts-suicide redemption arc. I still felt sympathetic...and i am a sicker for happy endings so.

Poor Hajoon i hate love triangles!! Why does every k drama has to have one? I loved the ot3 friendship also i thought Yeol Yeondoo flirting was obvious. Why did Hajoon not see it coming?

Same about Soo Ah. I felt that she was past redemption and I knew that the suicide attempt was coming the moment she mentioned her best friend but yet ep 10 made me so emotional and really made me feel bad for her

I have a lot of mixed feelings abt soo-ah's redemption bc i still hate her. idk if the show is gonna continue having her "reflect" or just tie her arc up and be done with it.

my bb ha joon doesn't deserve this pain ugh i cried both for him and the fact that otp is real (quiet yaaas)

also, im rly skeeved about the parents' loveline bc this is gonna cause real problems. yeol and yeon doo just started their relationship and now they have to find out their parents are getting married like??? show, what are you trying to accomplish here?

Ugh I hate this show soo much. That crazy b Soo Ah running around making everyone life miserable do not deservered all the cute and fluffy thing the cheer team sending her. The last straw for me was when she's trying to get Teach Yang fired by sexual harassement angle. I would sue her ass so hard, sexual harassemment is not a light matter and very damaging for career as a teacher. Now she going on full crazy mode with attempted murder, f Harvard, she needs therapy.
I used to really like Yeon-do character but the last 2 episode making me so frustrated of her. I get that she's better~~ than tht but really?there's only so much shit you can take before you end up looking like push-over.
Also I'm so confuse with the love line, where are they going with this? Yeol's dad and Yeon-doo's mom are an adult in a commited relationship ready for a marriage, what do they expect to do? Are they going to sacrifice their more realistic relationship for their children puppy love who staticaly wont even survive college? I love Yeol&Yeon-doo but it would be absurd if their parents have to breakup for them to be together.

I'm so fucking pissed with Yeon Doo constantly coming to Soo Ah's defense and trying to protect her bitchass that I HOPE THE PARENTS GET MARRIED AND THEN YEOL AND YEON DOO HAVE TO BREAK UP. Plus it'd be really stupid to have two mature, committed adults break up for their sake of their high school children and their juvenile relationship which probably won't last that long anyway (like how many high school relationships turn into long lasting marraiges)?? I'm also mad they're breaking Ha Joon's heart and I never cared for Yeol and his stupid smug smiles so fuck them tbh.

I am so angry with this drama right now because of the Soo Ah redemption arc she is so far beyond it with all the crap she's pulled she deserved to be hit by that truck.

this drama makes me cry cuz i feel for Sooah but i'm not here for this redemption arc for her. if she actually goes abroad to finish her studies, i'm gonna be pissed cuz that means she won't ever have to really pay for her actions. i want her to experience all the backlash from other students in the school for all the shit she's done. the cheer-leading team are way too nice to Sooah who genuinely tried to kill Yeondoo.

I can't believe all the kids just BAM forgave Soo Ah just like that. Seriously? Her suicide attempt is not penance for everything she has done. How can you possibly want a friendship with a person like that when she has treated you so badly? You can feel sorry for her, but to be so friendly towards her... Her just feeling terrible for what she has done is not enough. The memories are there, trust has been broken over and over.
And Yeon Doo's holier than thou shtick is getting old. That was way too much shit for a person to take and forgive.

Im with you in this...
I understand if the cheer team feels bad/sympathy for her but to suddenly change their mood to be cute and fluffy when throughout the series she's nothing but being a nightmare to them is kind of reach. I really hope thats not the end of her story, all is well, forgiven and forgotten. There's need to be real consequences for her past behaviour.
And Yeon do, she used to be so fun now she's just so annoying to me.
Lol sorry, I still have a lot of feeling left after finishing ep.10.

I'm only here for Sooah's arc because i get Dongjae screentime.i i've given up on the plot past the first 2 weeks.i knew Sooah's arc would significantly affect Hakyeon's screentime so I've been rooting for her redemption all these time. Too late show. Too late.

I'm so in love with this drama idek. I can't remember the last drama i've watched with a nice lead male character. Kim Yeol is a sweet guy since the very beginning. It's hard not to root for him.

I actually like soo ah's character as evil as she was. This drama would be boring without her tbh. I hope she faces the consequences when she comes back to school tho.

the only way i'll take a sooah redemption is if she gets punished like how they tried to punish yeol for what she actually did. and if she doesn't get into harvard.

The cast is amazing because though Sua didn't deserve it, they made me believe in that happy shiny ending.

Now that that is said: That ending was total bs. Everybody apologized to Sua. Everybody begged for her to comeback. For what? What have they ever done to Sua? What has Sua ever done for them? Honestly, Sua had a bad attitude the whole time and was arrogant and mean but everyone still treated her with decency. Now, I'm supposed to believe that they all want to be friends? Like, yeah. Try and stop her from killing herself, any decent human would do that but pity and empathy aren't friendship. Besides Sua doesn't need friendship right now. She doesn't need to be told it's alright. Sua needs a punishment and counseling. She needs to be told that she was wrong. And like yo, she NEEDS HELP. She pushed someone down the stairs because she was mad. Who cares if she felt bad later? She needs to be taken out of school and she needs help.

Oh, and that little ensemble cast aside they had with the students bad mouthing Sua? I rolled my eyes. It was okay when it was the beakho members thinking about where their grades would sit with and without Yeol but Sua? Naw. That's too far. how dare people criticize her wrongs. How dare kids who are arguably in the same position as Sua not feel bad for her and judge her actions.

I just wanted a real resolution not "You made a mistake and I forgive you".

I'm so surprised by the emotions I felt watching ep 10 even tho I was in the belief that Soo Ah was past redemption and I saw that plot point coming from a mile away.

The problem is also that there is no way to tie up all the loose ends in the show is which so frustrating. Have we forgotten about Ha Joon's abusive father? Not gonna address his self harming anymore?

I'm 100% sure the last two eps are gonna be angst about the parental marriage and then something is gonna work out and all will be well. I actually really like the parents together tho

Yeah not here for that Soo Ah redemption arc at all. It felt very cheap to just make her attempt suicide and then have everyone forgive her. I think they went all wrong with her character. They made her do really terrible things, then look remorseful for a hot second, only to act completely vile again when she got confronted with her actions. And this happened over and over again, which just made her look even worse. They should've made her slowly change through the course of the series, instead she just got worse and worse without showing any real remorse. And yet now we're suddenly supposed to forgive her because she had a controlling mother. She's not the only one in the drama that had issues at home or expectations they had to meet, yet she's the only one who went to such extremes. I do blame her mother, but it's not right that Soo Ah apparently doesn't have to face any consequences for the way she chose to handle things. Like, she literally threw someone down a set of stairs and nothing happened.

I also think they made things unnecessarily complicated by having the parents of the main couple in such a committed relationship, but I'm curious to see how they'll resolve that in so little time. All in all, this has been a cute show for the most part, but as usual they've kind of dropped the ball with these last few episodes.

Finally finished episode 10.

I'm happy with what they are doing with SooAh. Yes we all saw it from a mile away BUT they've done a great job humanizing her. It wasn't a fucking tranwreck like School 2015 where you just wished the antagonist would walk in front of a train already because she couldn't let things go. She tried to stop and the adults in her life kept pushing.

N's character DongJae is awesome. Dude can act. People say he falls flat but he's clearly acting as someone with limited social skills when his usual persona is a 180 from that.

I'm wondering how they are going to resolve the Yeol's dad/Yeon Doo's mom thing because there's a few ways it could go. I'd also like more explanation of what went on with Yeol's parents - they fought and then just took off? Hm.

There's two more episodes.

idg the obsession over Dong Jae tbh, boy is redundant and keeping him blank/with limited social skills is prob the best way to make sure it's not beyond N's very limited acting range. He's not even the second lead like he was promoted as, he's basically a third lead sidekick type. Which is fine tbqh, considering they upped Ji Soo's screen time and made him the second lead instead - he has the acting chops to support the increased screen time and the upped involvement with Yeon Doo.

And AFJJHJKSJKAJLJK YEOL/YEON DOO ARE SO DAMN CUTE TOGETHER I JUST CAN'T. Ji Soo and Eunji need to do a drama together but for this one, these two characters and their chemistry are perfect.

Soo Ah....idk, people seem far too focused on retribution when her remorse is genuine and led her to almost kill herself. Saying 'oh but she didn't have a gun to her head/Ha Joon doesn't do shit like this' is misunderstanding the nature of what her mother's doing to her, as well as the difference between her situation and Ha Joon's (someone pointed out that at least Ha Joon's pos dad hasn't brainwashed his son into believing all friends are useless and he still has Yeol, which makes all the diff. Soo Ah's mom otoh, after her friend committed suicide I imagine she was told she was only worth mentioning bc she was first place, that shit can screw anyone up. Hopefully she pays the consequences now.
