IU Update: Twenty Three First Win and more News

IU has been crowned the winner of last week’s “Inkigayo” with her latest title track “Twenty-Three.”

The winner announcement was postponed due to the November 1 episode being a prerecorded one with no live voting, and the No.1 artist was finally announced through SBS’ homepage on November 2.

Despite not having any music show promotions for her fourth mini album “Chat-Shire,” IU managed to take home last week’s “Inkigayo” trophy with “Twenty-Three.” The song continues to top most online charts, and IU’s entire new album has been a huge commercial success.




IU to Take Legal Action Against People Who Posted Maliciously (Obviosuly) Edited Photos Online


Singer IU‘s representatives revealed that they will be taking legal action against the person behind maliciously edited photos of her that are circulating online.

On November 1, IU’s management company Loen Entertainment said, “We have screen captures of the post, and we are investigating the social media accounts who are sharing the post and the original poster.”

The post in question was shared on Facebook on October 31 with the caption, “IU’s shocking concept.”

In the photos, IU’s legs have been edited to look like she is only wearing black underwear and stockings. The original photos taken at her seventh debut anniversary fan meet on September 20 show her wearing a top and high-waisted shorts.

At this, IU’s fans demanded that those spreading the photos be punished for their attempt to negatively affect IU’s image, and it has been reported that IU’s agency is looking into taking legal action.

Never listened to IU really before 23, but I really like it! I'll probably (finally) listen to the rest of the mini based on the performances here.

before i see comments like what i saw on reddit about how those shopped pictures aren't bad at all, it would've made her more popular, korea's defamation laws are too crazy whatever - just letting you know that they weren't just fakes that some douches were fapping to, they were spread all over facebook saying that she performed this way in front of young fans and there was thousands and thousands of comments calling her unfavorable names and spreading more rumors.

i mean if you want to photoshop your faves scantily clad or naked with some porn star's body be my guest (even though i'll never get it) but don't post it on public forum spreading rumors and expect people to be okay with it.

The timing of her dating rumours was really unfortunate, it seems to have brought out every psycho SJ fan on the Internet revising history and deciding she didn't suffer enough over the old scandal/"got away scot free". When she didn't do jack shit to anyone this time and Dispatch forced her to out her relationship.....like that was her fault or sth.

(on a side note, seeing celebs admit almost like clockwork that they're dating after Dispatch outs them -usually I guess bc they keep more explicit pics as backup proof? - makes me wonder how Lee Jong-seok and Park Shin Hye were able to stand their ground and keep denying it. i think with ljs and psh they just manage to get caught without any pictures that sealed the deal - like i know lee hyori said before she admitted her relationship because the paps told her they have more pictures, of them hugging or kissing or something like that that if she denied it it'd look worse.

and shinhye has so many guy friends she's chill with that i feel like as long as they don't do any pda they're gonna get away with friendship excuse, despite they visit each other's apts at midnight and etc lulz

Yeah the no pda thing is what I'm lowkey impressed by and sad about at the same time. I can't imagine having to avoid even holding my bf's hand in public for fear of it being turned into ammo in the tabloids, they must have superhuman self control lol. Tho they were super stealthy anyway and I assume they get indoors and make up for whatever they can't do out of doors as a couple.

As for IU, it's just weird. This is the one scandal after Taeyeon where I'm seeing netizens and international fans of SuJu be equally salty and piling on her for literally everything. The way some nb comments go on it's just freaky.

It's just weird, there are some stan mafias over there who go around screaming at anyone who says anything even mildly critical of their faves talent or w/e, and then on the other hand, you have the hordes coming for IU's blood post-dating news, and trying to target her for literally everything (they're claiming plagiarism now, on a song IU didn't even compose).
