Why They're Hot: If Seventeen doesn't become the biggest K-pop band of all time, it may go down as the largest. The group boasts 13 members (average age: 17) hailing from South Korea, China, and the United States, and it's divided into three units: one for hip-hip, one for vocals, and one for choreography. The divide-and-conquer strategy has paid off, as Seventeen's sophomore EP, Boys Be, debuted atop the World Albums chart in September. Led by the single "Mansae” -- a chipper mix of hip-hop, funk, and pop -- the five-song set followed 17 Carat, a promising debut that reached No. 8 on the World Albums chart back in May and outlasted records by better-established rivals like EXO and BTS. Although Seventeen was formed by Pledis Entertainment and launched via a reality series called Seventeen Project: Big Debut Plan, the group's members actively contribute to the writing and production of the music -- a rarity in the K-pop scene. Seventeen is a small army whose weapons include talent and creativity. If any K-pop band stands to truly conquer America, it might be this one.

It's that motherly-but-not-actually-their-mother instinct for me. I wasn't a long time stan of theirs like some fans that followed them for the years leading up to their debut, but I'm still proud of all their accomplishments and get fiercly protective of them when need be.

They all seem like nice guys and I'm very interested in the friendship between that guy with the long hair and the other one (y'all know who I mean!) so maybe next comeback they'll reel me in.

They're so cute and talented... I hope they come out with some r&b songs next I just really wanna hear DK croon to me over a dramatic guitar a la Before U Go. Also I'm gunna be salty when they lose to Ikon for that rookie award. The fact that YG managed to media play their way into making two mostly mediocre groups is bullshit to me. And didn't they just debut like three days ago? I don't understand how MAMA's nominations don't have a wider cut-off time.

Idk about world domination but there's absolutely no reason why they cant become a massive force to be reckoned with in Asia. I've said this already but if SVT does not become a massively famous group in Asia I'm laying the blame squarely on Pledis because they've squandered groups with potential before. But they've done right by SVT so far and I'm hoping they continue in this vein.
I'd love to see their marketing strategy and timeline for them in 2016. I'd even give them some ideas for free!

MTE. The group has the potential to be a lot bigger. I think what Pledis has done in not mediaplaying the boys has its advantages. The boys are charming enough to attract people without being in the news constantly. I do want to see what they have in store for us in 2016. I expect a full length album to be made as well as a 3rd mini album since I feel like Pledis would push them as the group is their best selling artist in terms of physical sales. I just wonder how they are going break the songs down between unit songs and group songs when it's a full album. Possibly some mix and match songs? I also foresee the going overseas for a few concerts. I kinda have a gut feeling that they might make it to Kcon in the US next summer since it will give them a chance to get an interview with Billboard. Billboard has seem to take a liking to these boys. What would you recommend Pledis does in terms of marketing?
