T.O.P Shares Details About His Dating History
It can be hard to find time and energy for dating when you’re a popular Korean celebrity, and even more so when you happen to be BIGBANG‘s T.O.P.
On October 28, he attended the press conference for CJ E&M’s global web drama “Secret Message” starring T.O.P and Japanese actress Ueno Juri, and responded to questions from reporters.
When asked what made him accept the casting offer, the star explained, “I was fascinated by the interesting set-up of the drama, which appeals to you whether you have been heartbroken or not. I thought it would be fun to depict such story.”
He moved on to discuss his dating history, “While working in this industry, I’ve had way too little opportunities to date. That’s why I was drawn to the character of Woohyun,” and shared some details about his love life, “I’ve barely had three relationships within the past ten years,” and laughed, “I’m not joking.”
In regards to YG Family and how they have shown support for his new acting project, the idol commented, “When it comes to cheering each other on, we now act like family members.”
“You usually send supportive messages only to those you’re not close with, right?” he shared his opinion on the ‘Hwaiting!’ culture, and then emphasized once more, “We [at YG] don’t do supportive messages.”
Actress Ueno Juri Reveals How She Felt Working With Jaejoong and T.O.P
Japanese actress Ueno Juri talked about having worked with JYJ‘s Jaejoong and BIGBANG‘s T.O.P.
On October 28, there was a press conference for the upcoming web-drama “Secret Message” where actors Choi Seung Hyun (T.O.P), Ueno Juri, Yoo In Na, and more attended.
While talking about the upcoming drama, JYJ’s Jaejoong was mentioned, whom Ueno Juri had worked with during 2010 in the Japanese drama “Sunao ni Narenakute.”
When T.O.P and Jaejoong were compared, the actress said, “Jaejoong can speak Japanese well, and we shot that drama in a Japanese-style because it is a Japanese drama. For this project, my character has a language barrier, so I felt like I was shooting a documentary.”
She continued, “My filming schedule in Korea was very tiring. We shot ten episodes in five days. This made me realize, ‘Jaejoong must’ve been tired back then, too.’ It’s hard to communicate when you’re not in your home country.”
When asked how it was having filmed with two idols, Ueno Juri explained, “I tried not to think that T.O.P and Jaejoong were famous idols. I only saw them as their characters in the script and I didn’t even watch their music videos. It’s hard to work with someone if you keep in mind that he is very famous.”
Meanwhile, “Secret Message” is about a Korean man named Woo Hyun and a Japanese woman named Haruka who meet after getting over difficult first love experiences.
There will be 18 episodes in total with each episode being 10 minutes long. Fans will be able to watch “Secret Message” via Naver TV Cast on November 2, and via dTV in Japan. Only the first episode will air at 8 p.m. KST and the rest of the episodes will air on 10 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
T.O.P Confesses His Heart Fluttered While Working With Ueno Juri
T.O.P has a new heartthrob, whom he met in his latest movie.
On October 28, the production presentation of the web drama “Secret Message” was held. T.O.P, Ueno Juri, Yoo In Na, Kim Kang Hyun, Lee Jae Yoon, Shin, Director Yoo Dae Eol and Park Myung Cheon, and Producer Lee Seung Hoon attended the event.
When asked, “How did you feel after hearing you’d be acting with Ueno Juri,” T.O.P answered, “I was so excited, and my heart fluttered. I’ve really enjoyed her work in the past, and my heart was pounding at the thought of acting with her.”
“I was curious about what she would be like in real person. I couldn’t wait to find out,” he added.
In the drama, T.O.P plays the role of the male lead Woo Hyun, who wants to trust in love despite his heartache. Ueno Juri plays the role of the female lead Haruka, a woman who still has a lot to say a lot about love.
“Secret Message” is a global project made under the collaboration of CJ E&M, Japan’s most renounced entertainment company AMUSE INC., and the global messenger LINE. The story of a Korean man and Japanese woman helping each other overcome the heartbreak of their first love and find someone new is sure to be appealing to a myriad of fans.
Meanwhile, “Secret Message” will be aired globally on November 2 in Asia, the U.S.A., South America, etc. Fans will have access to it through Naver TV Cast in Korea, dTV in Japan, and LINE TV in Taiwan. The premiere will be held at 8 p.m., and for the remaining two weeks, it will be shown on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10 a.m.
T.O.P Reveals His Opinion on Stars Making Promises for Ratings
BIGBANG‘s T.O.P, who will take part in the web drama “Secret Message,” directly communicated with fans through Naver V App.
When asked about whether he plans to make any promises for the fans, in case the viewer turnout rate is good, he said, “I think you can’t win by answering questions like this, since it’s ridiculous if you achieve the ratings, and it’s ridiculous if you don’t.”
He continued, “I don’t think anyone commits to being in a drama with thoughts about viewer turnout rates. We do this because of our passion, so instead of hoping for a huge success, I would like to hope that you will all remember me and my role warmly.”
“Secret Message” features T.O.P. and Japanese actress Ueno Juri, playing a Korean man and a Japanese woman who lived completely different lives. But they try to overcome the heartbreak from their first loves, and look for new love. It starts airing starting November 2 in Asia, the United States, and South America. It will be shown through Naver TV Cast within Korea.

Besides he's leaving for the army next year so...
