Baechu Seen Glaring With Disapproval At Smoker

At a recent event, Red Velvet’s Irene showed her disapproval of inconsiderate smokers through her eyes.

Photos showed that while the staff and the other members of her group were getting ready, Irene noticed a man smoking in public near her and her group. As the man inhaled from his cigarette and proceeded to hold the cigarette behind his back, Irene was clearly uncomfortable with the situation.
At first, the SM Entertainment singer merely glared at the man, but then proceeded to cover her nose and mouth as well, signaling her disapproval. Fans notice her actions and showed their sympathy and support for her, as well as their disapproval towards the smoker. The photos can be found below:

lol I genuinely hate inconsiderate smokers. I appreciate people who move out of the way or stand away from the crowd at a bus stop or something if they're smoking but people who smoke directly in your face and look offended when you cough or cover your nose are so annoying.

NYC is filled with repeat offenders because there r ppl who walk and smoke at the same time so u have smoke blowing in ur face unless u power walk pass them. it's so fucking rude and annoying.

i once saw a lady curse some guy out because he was walking and smoke and she was holding her kid and his smoke blew into her child's face. smh.

I hate this as well. From what I understand it's technically illegal to smoke on the streets in Korea but people (read as: ajusshi) smoke while walking around anyway.

Nothing makes me more angry than having smoke get into my freshly washed hair just because I'm walking behind a smoker lol

When this kind of thing happens sometimes I just pull out some papers or something from my bag and use it to fan the smoke right into the smoker's own face. And in a completely exaggerating manner of course, in order to annoy them more. LMAO

i hated walking around my old college campus bc people could (and did) smoke anywhere, so i could just be walking behind someone and minding my own business and suddenly a huge cloud of cigarette smoke or vapor (from those vape pen things) is just blowing right into my face like okay...i like breathing but okay

my mom smokes but she makes sure no one catchs her smoke, and if she seems no matter where she turns someone catchs the smoke, she throws it away not wanting to bother anyone.

The smoking culture over there is so different. You can pretty much smoke anywhere, even indoors and so there's no sense of what's inappropriate or not. I think it's rare to find someone in Korea who visibly shows their disgust at smoking because it's just so widely accepted there so kudos to Irene. Did you know most Korean males smoke because they're introduced to cheap cigarettes during their time in the army? Something to pass the time with and now they're stuck with that habit. Does anyone know if that man works with Red Velvet? My guess was he is their manager and that's how he managed to get so close to them. If it were a stranger, she might have been more respectful to someone older and hide her feelings, then again, one's feelings towards disgusting smoke being blown in their face is hard to hide.
