As for him being rude...eh it depends on your sense of humor. I mean TOP is rude too, if he's not feeling something he doesn't hide it (e.g. on live TV smh) and yet I like that about him. I think JB is shady but he's not mean. Fan send FILTHY things to celebs, there's a point where some/most people aren't going to be able to be nice about it. And I respect that he continues to put a boundary between him and fans instead of the pandering that like other idols do (ooh i love you too! i could marry a fan!) etc which is gross and messy.
The way I see it, fans seem to find his bluntness entertaining and the rest of GOT7 clearly love and look up to him. If the story was different then I'd have an issue but JB seems to balance being direct with being professional and decent to his fans really well.

Date: 2015-10-30 01:30 am (UTC)When I made that post of JB being shady, there were a couple of comments he made that I side-eyed. Not the blunt ones to the fans but the ones that he answered normally.
I hope he gets less conservative, imo, he's 22, he used to get in trouble a lot and now he's trying to be responsible and grown up so he's like this. I don't necessarily think it's anything to worry about yet but I definitely hope it's just his age/trying too hard to be mature. I also think that maybe we both just might be reading him differently. I think he's funny but then I'm also very shady and snarky anyway so that doesn't bother me.
As for TOP, he does make similar jokey/rude comments IMO e.g saying fans were why his hair was grey, telling them to stop talking to him when they say something ridiculous (which is fair!)/general teasing, all of those (except for a couple of snarky instagram comments) however, have been on camera.
Maybe if we saw JB saying these things on camera it might not come across the way you've read them.
You obviously know more about what TOP's like and I personally am not/was not saying TOP is rude, all I was saying is that I think he and JB have a similar dry, shady sense of humor. TOP is more self-deprecating tho which is perhaps what JB needs.

Yugyeom had said something about thanking JB for treating him like a friend even if they're 4 years (Korean age) apart and Youngjae had also mentioned similar things too.

From above, he can come off as a snob (his answers during this Q&A don't really help really lol) but the more you understand his thoughts in interviews or the way he interacts with other members, you kinda can see he's a low key warm person.

I do agree that he is strict about it, which is why he initially had problems with maknae line (who now also speak informally to him as well), but his reasoning during got2day was very clear. Him and Jackson are friends in every sense of the word (unlike say with Jinyoung, where the whole "hyung-dongseang" thing is very evident) and the only reason he tells him to keep calling him hyung is to not cause confusion about people he already knows. Years back this used to confuse me a lot and why they couldn't all be just "chingus", but then I saw the amount of confusion and even misunderstandings that can occur because of it among Koreans (ex:Suho-Minho's past situation). If anything he is protecting Jackson from possible backlash in case the Korean public decides to be nitpicky and say he isn't following social guidelines despite living in Korea, cause we all know how quickly netizens can go from loving to hating.
I have followed JJP since DH2 and I've seen R&I, so I can understand why your perspective about him continues to be negative even when his attitude has changed. That show was a mess and a half (second season was even worse, dear Lord) and JB got on my nerves during the entire damn thing. The only reason I even gave him a chance again is because he admited he was stupid and immature back then lol
