yixing's been trying to attend all exo schedules despite his very packed personal schedules. he flies back and forth from china to korea all the time and it doesnt really work because he's still missing a lot of exo schedules.

they were probably still trying to work it out for him to attend the dome tour, but i think it's impossible bcs he's got a new movies to film too in nov and dec (??).

so yeah i mean i think it's better for him to skip the dome rather than seeing him looking very exhausted during the concert? :c

the only unfortunate thing is that, dome tour is an important schedule :/

i've taken a leap of faith and gone through the tumblr tags and everyone just seems confused. i haven't seen hate. i've also heard that the japanese exo-ls are being supportive and encouraging. the wording of the announcement sort of shifts the blame off of him, so that's slightly good too, i suppose. reasons aside, i can't say i'm not sad he's not going to be there with everyone else after everything they've gone through :( it's huge for them and afaik he's one of the most popular members in japan. i'm really really hoping for minimal backlash

I know what you mean. I know if my fave EXO member couldn't attend an EXO concert I'd gotten tickets for, I'd be pretty annoyed that there weren't refunds and be trying to sell my ticket. Of course, SM don't actually care.

even if he already knew the schedule for the dome tour from earlier this year, if his filming schedule coincide with the concert dates, it's not like he could do anything about it. and if it's the jackie chan's one he's filming rn i think it's just as important as the concert. esp for his personal career in china. idk, i just don't get the hype for dome tour.

true - if the filming is w/ jackie chan then that film holds quite a lot of importance too. and normally i'd say that the jp dome tour is a big deal but tbh with exo it doesn't feel as big of a deal unlike the way its felt with other groups bc exo hasn't really gone through the same build up and working in japan for the dome (not to say that exo doesn't ~deserve~ it or w/e, just saying that the importance of it doesn't seem as high to me)

I'm really trying to not be bitter about it, but he's missing a whole tour that lasts 16 days. And a tour that has been decided around May this year. And a tour that includes the biggest live EXO will ever have in Japan. He has ALL the motives for not missing this, so i really wish he/SME had given people more than a simple notice on the website one week before the show. And i'm also personally offended because i have a friend flying from Spain only to see him in their first Dome concert, and now she'll have to stand there cheering for no one

Maybe this is only me being salty, but i cant really wrap my head around this, specially when the reason is not sickness, but personal schedules... I know that getting to the Dome for EXO doesn't fell the same way than for the other bands that had to build their way up there, but as a fan that followed Toho and SHINee to their first Domes, I cant even imagine a situation where any of the members would be okay with missing the occasion because of personal schedules, tbh

what's the actual date for the concert? bc i googled it and came out with 1-2 week from now, which is tight, but still possible for the fans to resell their tickets or change their plan. but if it's tomorrow then it's a real dick move, SM.i saw a BNF got her ticket for her 1st day sold quickly after the announcement.

Yeah, it sucks, but his schedule is already so packed, he can't do everything otherwise it will have consequences on his health... His acting career in China is more important right now, he's getting a lot of opportunities. I just hope that he won't get too much hate for missing it

I think the biggest issue for fans is that other members also have their individual careers that I'm sure they'd want to focus on too but they can't because they have to prioritize the group, meanwhile Lay can get away with missing more schedules than he's attending, all the while saying EXO is his first priority. At this point it's more than obvious he's prioritizing himself which I don't really blame him for but what's even the use of being in EXO if the situation is like this? It's like he wants the best of both worlds but obviously prioritizing one over the other while saying the opposite so I can see why fans are annoyed.

But anyway, I don't care about EXO or the fans so I'm just /shrug.

Having a Dome Tour is a HUGE thing for Asian artists, so I would think that whatever other schedules Lay has would be cancelled or moved. I mean, they know since months that EXO are going to play in the Dome, so they had time enough to move his other activities. This whole thing is really suspect!

No, Sica was supposed to be at the Dome. The CMIYC PV with all nine members should have been unveiled there, but after Sica was kicked out they had to reshoot it and release it later.

Theres a lot of people defending Lay for putting his personal career first and i see nothing wrong with him doing that. I just think its very sly of him to do that and keep missing schedules while he says EXO is his priority and playing his fans. Also, I just want to leave it here that Jessica got kicked out of Soshi technically for wanting to do her thing while being a member, and even though she didnt even miss schedules people still bashed her, so idg why Lay gets a free out of jail card on this one.

for those who wonder why they only announced it now, it seems like they knew that yixing attending the con was still uncertain because they had stated in the dome tour's news that 'Members participating on the shows could change without previous notice. We ask for your understanding'. i think they were still trying to work it out but decided to state that just in case if it wouldnt work out too.

Please. The concert is about to start next week, obviously SM knew about this ages ago lbr. They'd have to change formations otherwise. And if his schedules clash due to filming, isn't it understandable to prioritise something that you're contracted to do?

Also, having him there for only a few shows out of the whole tour makes no sense, it'll only make it harder on the other members logistics wise.

The only difference between him and Kibum is that Lay is actually popular and its helping keep EXO alive in a market they decided to neglect, but seeing how they are moving forward in Japan with a song that he isn't even part of makes me wonder how long will SME go before they give no shits about him.


I don't really care about Lay for a long time now (or exo in general) but he would be better off leaving SME, I mean is not like he is active with EXO either way and its way more beneficial for SME and the group his activities in China than what he gets from them.

Either SM is trying to build some fan led hate campaign against him by letting him miss stuff or they just don't care what he does. Lay drinks the Exo koolaid too hard for me to believe that he's missing the dome on purpose.

I've nothing against Lay, but I think he's got enough traction in China now that he can leave EXO for a solo career like the rest of china line. At this point, him leaving won't hurt the group musically and I've a feeling if it's only down to the Korean members, they can start doing things like SuJu and have proper focus on their individual activities and come together for an album every year

honestly i'm not surprised I have a feeling that sm and him have made an executive decision a long time ago for him to focus exclusively on expanding in china. at this point he's the only one in sm with a chance of making it china so all of his non stop activities are probably being done with sm's blessing. I was surprised he was even going to be in the japanese in the first place bc it was so much time away from china aka time that could've been used to further his chinese solo career. they probably could have handled this better tho....this is a dome concert not a fanmeeting but I don't think SM or his personal studio give a rat's ass about his reputation outside of anyways...
