again? jonghyun releases another song (a collab)!!!!

so, for those who weren't aware: mnet kicked off a new show at the start of the month, "monthly live connection", where the concept is basically picking an artist and having them collaborate with someone that they're "connected" to that they've never collaborated with before. shinee's jonghyun was picked as the first participant and, over the last three weeks, the show has been airing his ~collaboration journey with various artist. his first initial connection was jung joon young, which led to a second connection, soran's go young bae, who's also connected to jung joon young. jung joon young brought in a connection of his own via eddy kim, ect. according to a pd for the show, jonghyun worked so hard during the recording process of the show (last month) that he ended up finishing three songs: one solo song, and two collaboration. last week came the release of his solo song, "elevator", (a post on it can be found here!) and with this week comes the release of a collaboration with soran's go young bae, "가을이긴 한가 봐 (it must be autumn)". the third and final song, a second collaboration with jung joon young, will be released on october 29th.

ignore the last post, mods! i found more information. he's really on a roll this year though, wow. nineteen songs (twenty next week) that either have his credits on them as: a composer, lyricist or both. (male idol soloist of the year, y/y?)

it is super chill

my fave parts are when they sing together, when jjong goes higher, they really compliment each other

Mte. it's really a pity that this pretty song is gonna be completely unnoticed due the total lack of promotions/media play. Unless it ends up pulling a Baek Ah Yeon or something :/

a part of me dyes when his song don't do well digitally, i just want people to listen to it, to think that that the songs are never going to get the chance to be liked by people makes me sad

but on the other hand, if he does reach the top, it is going to be all on him and the quality of his songs and that would be 1000x more fulfilling, not to mention he seems to be learning and evolving as part of the process

wow, I was expecting a boring super slow ballad but I surprisingly like this a lot. It's chill but a little upbeat and their voices sound great together.
what's the point of releasing all these songs with zero promotions/media play tho? after working hard on his own compositions he should at least get some public attention and don't let this die in charts tbh

probably because it's the concept of the show? idk, i can't speak for the lack of promotion. that's partially on mnet, partially on sm because neither are doing a good job of hyping it. (which is weird to me because mnet loves jonghyun.) the songs could easily be topping the charts just like songs from other mnet shows (uprs, smtm) do but they haven't. elevator dropped off of the melon chart in under two days, and this song is dropping about four spots by the hour. (it's like #41 right now.) the both of them did the most they could do though: promoting the song on twitter / instagram, ect. there's only so much they can do, i guess.

Yeah, I didn't expect anything from SM because everyone knows how they are when it comes to SHINee but mnet could be promoting them a bit more. Idk, it's really sad that he's working on these songs to only get recognition from a few fans when it could be topping charts (or at least in a decent position). That's why I laugh when people act as if SHINee got attention from SM / attention in general. I can't help to think that if this was a member of a "bigger" SM group they'd be getting x100 more attention tbh.
