IU Won't Promote “Chat-shire” On Music Shows

Seems like IU is looking to give a new twist to her career, for the second time in a row (Flower Bookmark wasn't promoted either) She decided to skip performances and promotions on music shows. Fans will be able to see new songs performances on her upcoming tour.


IU will be releasing her new mini album, “Chat-shire,” on October 23. This will be her comeback after her remake album “Flower Bookmark” one year and five months ago. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to see her on music programs this time around.

IU’s agency stated, “IU will be focusing more on offline performances for her new album. From producing the album to promoting it, IU wanted to make the experience better by giving her fans more personal performances. She does not want to focus on being on TV”

IU will be performing songs from her mini album “Chat-shire” for the first time for her concert tour which starts on November 21. Fans are very excited to be able to see performances of the new songs for the first time.

IU has taken part in all of the composing, writing, and producing of the songs in this mini album. The teasers for the songs “Shoes” and “The Shower” have also been recently released.

Considering she seems to be going with a fairy tale-type concept, which suits the elaborate music program stages, I would have liked to see at least one or two appearances. :-(

I think she would have been promoting on music shows if the fox accusations didn't pop up. Disappointed that there aren't music show performances. The sets would have looked cool.

her previous album (2014) wasn't promoted on music shows either and back then she hasn't any scandal .... this time we just got a previous warning

Yeah, but that was a remake album so I can understand not promoting that on music shows.

I could swear she performed "The Meaning of You" with Kim Chang-wan a couple of times though, like e.g. here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ECLT-2JfTCA) on MuBank. Or is that not what's meant with promoting on music shows? (Serious question.)

last year she was on tv but avoided mushows promos specifically

she did other shows like healing camp (with akmu) , yoo hee yeol sketchbook and special summer concert with yoo hee yeol, pops in seoul, live picnic .... she went to various awards shows, end of the year or half the year special ....
i think that was music bank half of the year special, she was included because meaning of you, my old story and when love passes did really well on the charts (without any promotion beside their mvs)

maybe you remind her on music shows because last year she also sang duet "when would it be" .... since that was yoon hyun sang debut and he's a label mate, iu did various shows next to him

...what strange kind of damage control is this? This almost makes it look like she's doing the female artist equivalent of joining the army and taking the time to "self-reflect." She's done nothing wrong, why should she go into hiding? And spinning it into her doing it "for the fans" just makes no sense, surely the fans want to see her on TV as well as go to a concert? I can't believe that post has this much traction, that thing about the kid who paid for dinner twice supposedly being a victim of her trickery? lol and how that Eunhyuk picture that seemingly made her life hell, too, she did all of that *on purpose* because she's an evil fox with no sense of self-preservation? do people have their bs sensors turned on?

i actually think she has nothing to do on mushows ... like her previous album songs, i can't imagine music show audience wanting to listen her ballads , she would sound/look so boring next to other idols groups .... everybody doing danceable music while she just seat there and sing .... totally out of place

This would bother me zero percent if it weren't for the fact that there are likely going to be no "personal performances" outside of Korea... :(
Music programs are the only time int'l fans get a chance to see her perform anything, really. Outside of fancams, anyway, but those aren't really the same. I hope she'll hold concerts stateside one day.
