Byun Yo-han Looks "Chic" for Harper's Bazaar

Fashion magazine Bazaar released photos of actor Byun Yo-han for its November issue.
The photos show the 29-year-old actor looking chic in a black cardigan and a black-and-white checkered suit.

In an interview with the magazine after the photo shoots, Byun talked about how he prepared for his role in the TV drama “Six Flying Dragons.”
“Personally, I met with a history teacher and learned about Korea’s history from Goryeo to the Joseon era. (The history) has come to me more vividly since,” he said.

SBS soap “Six Flying Dragons,” costarring Yoo Ah-in and Kim Myung-min, airs every Monday and Tuesday at 10 p.m.
The fashion spread, including his photos and an interview, is available in the magazine’s November issue.

Not really sold on LDW but I've always been a fan of JRW since Epik High's One mv, to the extent I even shipped her and Anthony in King of Drama... That should expose how much I love her aka she can do no wrong woot woot Twenty Again was good enough, I hope TvN has some idea on how to do the new drama right.

Yeah, I shipped them as well ... I think the first time I saw her was in My Name Is Kim Sam-soon, and it's petty but I originally disliked her a bit b/c of that role. She's so good though, I've really grown to like her!

Eeeh you skipped out on My Girl? Everyone loved Lee Junki in that one but the naive foolish old me hated his pretty face then lol I was blinded by LDW. A bit. An eclipse of judgment! Lol

Aaah Samsoonie. I watched that drama late... like within 5 years ago late. Her character was realistic enough by Kdrama standards though, and she wasn't some legit craycray 2nd lead like the normal stock so she was a good one. Won't be able to stop gushing how watching her in that life-changing mv made me a believer. Lol.

Lol, yeah. There are a couple of iconic dramas that I still plan on watching, but most of them seem so over the top that I can't quite bring myself to actually start. :D

Oh, same. Maybe it's b/c it was one of my first K-dramas, but I disliked her character quite a lot when I watched it. Of course now in hindsight, she really wasn't that bad.

At first I actually didn't even realise that it was her in the "One" MV! I saw that before I watched MNIKSS, so maybe I would've been more sympathetic to her character if I'd known it was her in the MV.^^

Watching sageuk for the first time in a verrry long time for facial hair swordsman byun effin yohan.

Six flying dragons is probably the first straight up sageuk i'll finish. I gave up on a song il gook sageuk. And only managed to finish the fusion kind.

But my love for yohan oppar is strong bec damn look at him and his perfection

I love sageuk, tbh. My initial problem was rather that it's 50 episodes long. O_O But so far, it's actually a pretty strong drama (not gonna touch the whole episode four incident with a ten-foot pole though). The cast is so strong as well!

I hate that episode 4 not only exists, but is a main part of yohan's arc.
I tend to start but get tired with all the politics of sageuk dramas that i never manage to finish. I only go through the fusion kind

That's true, all the politics require a lot of concentration. I do love all the props and costumes though, and the action scenes in this show are astonishingly good? Like e.g. Yo-han's fighting scene in episode four! And of course, the music!

haha six flying dragons is also more fusion than straight up - it's vastly different from jung do jeon, which is the real straight up kind you'd expect from traditional sageuks.

i'm so annoyed that yohan's epic entrance scene has clips of those flashbacks interspersed into it ugh, even thought of learning final cut pro to edit those scenes out for my personal enjoyment

Ugh that scene, what a way to ruin the moment. And it sucks because i just have the feeling that they'll keep using that clip whenever yohan needs to be brooding or making important decisions ugh ugh ugh

Apart from that controversial scene, I actually like it so far. But we're only 5/6 episodes in, and it's a 50-episode drama. O_O So if you're not sure, maybe it would be a good idea to wait a little and see what the feedback will be like after 20 or 30 episodes.

I really liked his last drama, Ex-Girlfriends Club. The plot sounds HORRIBLE, but it was actually a really sweet drama?? And Song Ji-hyo and him have really nice chemistry.

Or you could watch one of his movies. Are subs for Socialphobia out by now? It sounds interesting, and it (+ Misaeng) was his break-out role, after all. I really wanna watch it! ;_;

I honestly never do weekend/family dramas b/c they're so long, but the cast for this is SO good and it sounded really fascinating, so I gave it a shot. I'm thinking of making discussion posts for it occasionally, so you could check these later to see if people enjoy it.

Ex-Girlfriend Club is only 12 episodes, and A LOT more light-hearted than Six Flying Dragons. I think his movies might once again be on the heavier side though ...
