Koreans react to Japanese idol acts LADYBABY and BABYMETAL

LADYBABY is an idol trio consisting of LADYBEARD (an Australian cosplayer, pin-up model, wrestler, and a heavy metal singer based in Japan) plus idols Rie Kaneko and Rei Kuromiya. The group was solely created for promoting costume company Clearstone via special events and YouTube performances.

BABYMETAL is a popular Japanese idol metal band.

Interesting to have them react to only these two acts when the Koreans themselves knew of more apt examples of J-Pop acts.

I've fallen out of the J-Music game now and I only listen to my older artists like Double, Asuka, Ckay, Namie, Hikki, Anzen Chitai, Michico, Mflo etc. Do you have any recommendations for newer artists that are really good? I like the poppy stuff (lmao I love Hatsune Miku) so I don't mind. I just would like to get into newer JPOP.

I feel like this was supposed to be a shit stirring video kind of throwing shade at jpop that backfired because most of the people actually thought the songs and genre to be unique and appealing to foreigners lol

Like OP said, there were so many other things they could have shown to make an interesting video comparing jpop and kpop. Also, if they are going to show LadyBaby and Baby Metal, at least explain what they are going for with their concepts, dont just throw it out there.

Kinda ot, but as a jpop fan, and idol music fan, I'm always impressed at how Japan is a country that is able to make even anime idols release awesome songs and sweep over the country lol I started playing Love Live! last year because i love rhythm games, but i got so hooked on the songs and the characters! XD

OT - I'm one of those JRock to KPop converts from a bygone era and I honestly I have no idea how to get back into Japanese music. I can't even remember how I used to find it 10 years ago. Japan still being terrified of youtube doesn't help.

Can anyone help me? I listened to people like Uverworld, abingdon boys school, YUI, asian kung-fu generation, JINN, Shishido Kavka, TM Revolution & Koda Kumi. Basically non visual kei JRock and a bit of pop.
Any suggestions or places to start looking?

I love those groups tbh but I agree they should have balanced it with something different (I mean both are metal/pop fusion and both are meant to be weird... where's the variety smh). AKB aside, I'd show something like FEMM, Perfume, Momusu (or any Hello!Pro group I guess), maybe E-Girls.

I prefer J-Pop to K-Pop, but I've been so out of the J-Pop loop for years now. I listen to Kalafina because they're my ALL TIME FAVOURITE GROUP (I love and have all of their songs minus some TV size + live ones ♥♥♥), but I don't entirely know what's currently in. I used to be all for the idol groups, like the groups in Hello Project (the groups I used to listen to still hold a special place in my heart, especially W), but currently I can't get into AKB48 or other highly-volumed groups. =\

The only reason I keep up to date (somewhat) with the K-Pop groups now and all the news is because of this community. And I only joined last year. I wish Aramatheydidn't was as alive as this group. ; n ;
