Synopsis: Top Band is a band competition series that airs on KBS. Out of 623 auditioning bands, only 18 teams will make it past the preliminaries and onto the main stage. Over the course of 12 episodes, these contestants will compete for the title of 'Top Band' and the 100 million Won grand prize. This season's panel of judges is made up of Shin Dae Chul, leader and guitarist of Sinawe; composer and songwriter Yoon Il Sang; and indie band Rose Motel, which previously participated as a contestant in Top Band 2.

On this episode: The last of the auditioning bands perform for the judges. Soloists audition for a spot in one of the project bands created just for Top Band 3. The final 18 bands are revealed and move onto the coach matches!

Soloist Auditions (in order of appearance)

A brief explanation of this segment: New to this season of Top Band, project bands will compete alongside existing bands for the title of 'Top Band'. These project bands are assembled by the judges from a pool of auditioning solo musicians and are exclusive to Top Band 3. Three bands will be created and included as part of the 18 finalists that make it onto the main stage.

Coach Match Performances

A brief explanation of this segment: Each of the 18 final bands will have the chance to work with a coach throughout the season. Here, each team has 300 seconds to win over the hearts of the three available coaches (Shin Dae Chul, Yoon Il Sang, and Rose Motel) so that they can move onto the real competition.

I'm pleased with all the groups that made it through to the final 18, and the soloists we saw that made it through were all really good so I'm looking forward to see how well the project bands do in the next episode.
