These images were originally posted at La Repubblica, and then submitted to TackyWeddings which led to it being picked up by Jezebel and placed in their Photoshop of Horrors section.
The post at TackyWeddings did not have an accompanying article. The headline merely read, "Bizarre wedding photo trend: Miniature brides." This was followed by a single statement, "Hmmmm..."
Some TackyWeddings reader comments:
- I think it's kind of cute but kind of weird at the same time.
- I think it's alarmingly scary, it reminds me of that artist that did squashed faries.
- This is so cute!!! Loving the idea.
- Easily the creepiest thing I have ever seen.
- These guys must have teensy weensy man parts!
- Is the guy in the Korean pics Rain aka Jeong Ji-hoon? [There is another couple's photos at the site]
- That's definitely not Rain in those pictures.
Jezebel, however, did have an article: "The Weird World of Miniature Brides"
"The folks at Tacky Weddings have called our attention to a fairly disturbing trend: "miniature bride" photography, which places the happy couple in scenes akin to Jack and the Beanstalk, with the groom looming over the bride, giant style. [snip] The photos, while seemingly done just for fun, objectify the bride and show a visual imbalance of power and a Cullen-like desire for control; the bride is reduced to a toy, someone unequal, easily manipulated, and dependent on her groom for all things. While it may seem funny at first glance, the subtext is pretty hard to laugh at. So what say you, Commenters? Funny, creepy, or perhaps a bit of both?"

There was one photo in particular that was not posted at Jezebel. I wonder if the comments would have ranged differently if it had been?
Does this one image make all the other images more palatable, or is there nothing wrong with any of them to begin with?
