Wah, LJ ate my super long comment, and I can't remember it all, so... scattered one shot impressions it is.

Bless you, OP. I really like shows like this, though I have a hard time keeping up while things are actually going on. (I keep intending to see if there are subs anywhere of Trot Master X....)

I really liked the Mimi Sisters for their energy and incorporating a more traditional sound, but they need to work on their pitch.

Oriental Showcus are probably great at street festivals, fun sound, good performers.

What a Circus's choreo was hilarious.

Streetguns came out of a time machine, right?

Apnea and Cho Moon Geun Band both didn't seem quite cohesive, though I want to see what Apnea is like after they've been performing another year.

The lead singer of Inplace's voice doesn't fit the song -- I like the song, and the band sound, and lyrics, but he needs to be less timid. Or have someone else sing with a less sweet voice.

Pentasonic being a white guy lead and standard issue U.S. bar band sound was .. unexpected. And offputting.

I hadn't paid much attention to Lunafly before, but they were clearly one of the best, and I really loved the lead vocal's voice. (Has the song they performed been released somewhere? I found them on Spotify, but not that track.

So my picks from this crop to advance are Lunafly, Oriental Showcus, What a Circus and Mimi Sisters.

Lunafly's lead vocal is Yun! His voice is like chocolate. I don't think they've released that song yet afaik.

Exactly my picks too LOL With Lunafly as the most interesting to me for now. They seem somewhat different from before...

Not gonna lie, I only clicked this post because of the Lunafly tag. I've been wondering how they're doing, when they're gonna release new music, if they've been making enough money with their small overseas gigs these days. After Brown Eyes Girls' Jea, Miryo and Narsha left Nega Network to join Gain, I think Lunafly and LC9 are the only ones left in that company (does LC9 even still exist?). Lunafly is just starting over with two new members so I hope things work out for them in this show and beyond.

LC9 has been totally silent on social media since February, and their official website still shows E.den and Rasa, both of whom have left. I'm glad BEG has escaped. Laboum had a comeback this spring, but they are jointly managed with U-KISS/Lim Chang Jun's label NH Media, so I don't know that Nega gets any credit for that. Their other listed artists haven't released anything since 2012, so .... maybe this show will help Lunafly find a new home? They seem pretty self-directed.

When I saw Sam tweet about this I was kind of surprised because they hadn't mentioned anything about the show before then, but I'm really hoping that this will provide Lunafly with the momentum they need to do well in Korea (especially given that this is happening relatively soon after Jin and Yub joined so it's a bit of a fresh start for them, at least domestically).

I would be excited for weekly posts about the show, though. I keep meaning to get more into k-indie/k-rock but maybe this will finally push me into finding more artists to listen to/follow.
