rules set with the entries (as said by the maker):
(this is what they wrote, word for word, in the info.)

1) one entry per singer. (yes, yes. we all know jonghyun has lots of long notes, but one appearance is enough.)
2) live performances only. no variety show challenges or lip synched performance. (yes, i know about luhan banging his head trying to extend his long note in that challenge for twenty+ seconds, but that is in a completely different context and setting and doesn't belong here.)
3) one breath only. (this pretty much eliminates the smokers in k-pop who have to take breaths in the middle of their runs. i could name names but i'll refrain.)
4) time will start at the beginning of the first word after the breath taken before the long run. (i implemented this rule because of sandeul mostly, as he extended his runs with trills. others slightly do it too and / or change octaves.)

i don't know if this'll be accepted but i thought it was interesting and more diverse in artist selection than a lot of other "popular" long note edit videos i've watched in the past. ie: editors just including the same vocalists over and over again. i saw the editor said in the comments that they were skeptical about g.o's entry because they couldn't tell if he was taking a breath or changing octaves but...! yeah. thoughts, share any other ones you know of, ect.

So Hyang's note gave me goosebumps omg. Her entire performance (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFyndK9VOCk) actually gives me the chills.

I'm so incredibly impressed with all of these, even as a woodwind player I wouldn't be able to hold a vocal note that long e.e

Hongki <3 still blowing me away with his voice all the time. I will always love listening to Sandeul sing too, he has such an incredible range and his tone is so powerful too. Of course Jonghyun as well, I would have been shocked if he wasn't featured pretty high up on this list. Se7en paces himself really well during his note, you can hear how it gets stronger/more sure towards the end.

Was absolutely not expecting Onew to be #1, but damn. I just..wow.

I'm convinced that a lot of these idols that are featured here have to be trained in circular breathing to some extent.

I feel like I need to get more into Shinee, now that I've started enjoying their music.

Eunji was really nice, I enjoy her vocal colour a lot I think, she sounded very distinct from other female idols.

The lady with the violinist gave me chills, I'll have to check her out.

I also feel like RV's Wendy has had a lot of long notes in the recent albums, but I don't think they've performed most of those songs live, so.

BtoB had some tricky parts in It's Okay, like that joint part Eunkwang and Changsub have. It's not that long but they always hit it in sync

Sohyang is amazing, she is able to sustain and adlib notes that most singers don't even dare to reach. The are these vocal faggotry blogs that say that her lower legister sucks but that's bs. Funny that some find her voice grating because of all that high notes..

Also watching Immortal Song made me realise people put too much emphasis on high notes in song...

I would add to this Ryeowook's performance in Immortal Song with "Lying on the sea" with his last note. It's around/more? than 10 sec.

Because of curiousity I checked one of legendary Changmin's notes in "Rising sun", and damn, it's 'just' around 10 sec. My memory made it waaay longer.

i want to mention the soohoon couple of ukiss, they had a few long notes where soohyun was doing his highest notes, and hoon was harmonizing with him. best part of any ukiss song, really.

out of the video i like sungkyu's the best i think, his voice shined really. rest are amazing, too.

I thought they were going to link that performance of him holding that note and that damn swing for dear life... but I see it was just 20 seconds or so.



Even so, a note starts to sound irritating after being held for longer than 10 seconds if the singer doesn't add vibrato or any kind of variation.
