BTOB′s Yook Sung Jae shared his thoughts on being cast in new SBS drama The Village.
On being cast as Park Woo Jae in The Village, Yook Sung Jae stated through his agency, Cube Entertainment, on September 2, "First, it′s an honor to be able to stand as the lead in a Wednesday-Thursday drama."
He continued, "I was cautious leading up to my decision to appear. I will work hard so that I do not compromise the reputations of Moon Geun Young sunbaenim and the other great actors."
With his start as Sooksookie in Reply 1994 before appearing in Plus Nine Boys, Yook Sung Jae has been active as BTOB′s representative actor idol. He went on to star in KBS′ School 2015 as the rebellious Gong Tae Kwang, and many are curious to see his transformation in the upcoming drama. Most notably cast alongside senior actress Moon Geun Young, many are curious to see what kind of chemistry the two stars will create.
The Village is about a teacher named So Yoon (Moon Geun Young) who begins teaching at a small and peaceful village, where she discovers a body, and a policeman (Yook Sung Jae) who try to uncover the truth.
The drama will be written by Do Hyun Jung, who wrote Que Sera Sera and Can Love Become Money, while Lee Yong Seok of Wife Returns and The Great Seer will direct it. The drama will follow Yong Pal-ie.
BTOB’s Yook Sungjae Reported to Be the New MC of “Inkigayo”
Idol group BTOB member and actor Yook Sungjae will step in as the new MC of SBS‘ weekly music program, “Inkigayo.”
According to industry insiders, Yook Sungjae has been confirmed as the new MC of “Inkigayo” to replace actor Hong Jong Hyun, who stepped down from the position last week. Yook Sungjae will begin his job as the MC of the show on September 13, alongside MC’s Kim Yoo Jung and Got7‘s Jackson.
Previously, he has been on the show as a guest MC in July when Hong Jong Hyun was away due to a schedule conflict.
Yook Sungjae is currently appearing on MBC‘s virtual marriage variety show “We Got Married” along with Red Velvet‘s Joy. He has been recently cast in a lead role in SBS’ upcoming drama “Village – Achiara’s Secret.”

Sungjae works so much cause he said he takes every chance to make BtoB popular... They need another domestic comeback but with Village drama shooting I doubt that.

Date: 2015-09-06 03:08 pm (UTC)I really doubt he will leave wgm :/ filming occurs once in two weeks and prolly everyone expects sungjae to manage? many actors did wgm and shot a drama as lead at the same time... but him mcing inkigayo every week plus drama shooting plus supposed btob comeback? wgm seems to be the least important thing out of them all. even tho i doubt he's an actual lead in village despite the media play. i have a feeling it's more like jdoramas are done, with only one actor leading.
