Korean fashion designer Yoon Choon Ho has accused actress Yoon Eun Hye of copying one of his designs.
Yoon Eun Hye is currently appearing as one of the contestants on China’s fashion design survival program “Goddess’ Fashion” and was ranked number one in a recent evaluation. The design that she won with is a completely white coat with wing-like laces attached at the sleeves.
After this episode aired, designer Yoon Choon Ho claimed that Yoon Eun Hye copied off of his previous design, saying, “I heard my clothes appeared on a Chinese program… I thought it was just a sponsored piece, but it was supposedly made by another woman.”
He continued, “I can see that it’s a bit different [from mine], and people might say it’s just a coincidence. But I am offended. I feel that way and so do my co-workers. Fashion designers out there, don’t you think we would know our own clothing?” expressing his firm belief that Yoon Eun Hye had plagiarized.
He wrote once more, “I also found out that the actress and her stylist actually picked up a sponsored outfit from our company just a few days ago, so I’m pretty certain that I’m right. It’s giving me chills. I can’t believe someone would [plagiarize] one of my collections [...] so easily and so confidently… I’m at a loss.”
Designer Yoon then uploaded pictures comparing Yoon Eun Hye’s dress to his to let the public decide who is right.
