Dia Frampton on Superstar K7

Dia Frampton is currently the love of the judges on “Superstar K7.”

On the episode of “Superstar K7” that aired on August 27, Dia Frampton, who took second place on the U.S. version of “The Voice Season 1,” auditions.

“You got second place on ‘The Voice Season 1.’ Why did you come to Korea to take another audition,” Yoon Jong Shin asks.

“My parents know that I applied for ‘Superstar K7,” she starts off. “My mom is even more nervous and excited than I am right now. It means a lot to my mom that I am auditioning for this program. My mom was born in Seoul, and my dad is American. My family, however, lives in Korea, and it’s like my home. It’s special for me to be singing in Korea for my mom and my grandmother. I’ve always wanted to sing in Korea,” she says.

When she starts singing, her voice immediately captivates the judges.

“If someone were to ask me, ‘How would she do in Korea?’ I would give a very positive answer. Her voice has a lot of Asian traits,” Yoon Jong Shin says.

“I was surprised such a pretty voice came out,” Sung Shi Kyung says.

Zion. T adds on to the praise by saying, “I love you,” leading Frampton off to a good start with a pass from all of the judges.

i was soooo surprised to see her on there! its weird hearing her speak korean, as little as it was. i wanna see her whole audition. i wonder how far she'll get in the competition.

Omg yes i loved meg and dia! I was so surprised when she popped up on The Voice, thought she deserved to win.

right!? my friend didnt like her when she was doing meg and dia but she totally shut up after she performed that kanye song.
i think she deserved to win too but i mean that guy who won basically didnt do anything with his win and hasnt gotten any popular while dia got to go on tour with blake and came out with an album and has been tour. losing was the best thing for her in that competition! hahaha

This sorta became Dia's thing after the voice. While Dia toured the band stayed together and played as her band on tour but then of course they all had things they wanted to do. Jon became part of another band and now he's training to be a chef (at least the last i heard). Carlo married his longtime girlfriend (and I think plays some gigs around LA). Nick moved to LA and ended up working in a coffee shop for a while. So Meg decided she wanted to focus on her jewelry line and her and Nick had a side project going for a while but now they've opened up a coffee shop together in Salt Lake City ( http://www.threepinescoffee.com/ (http://www.threepinescoffee.com/) ).

Her grandmother was telling her something encouraging and she said "idk" and her grandmother told the camera man, "she doesn't understand anything"

Wow it's lovely to see her here. I loved the album she released after the Voice and wish she'd been more successful. If she improves her Korean she might have a chance. Korea loves their mid tempo songs. She might need to do less "country" style song writing though lol

I remember her from The Voice and her album was nice, but I never understood how she came second during the show. Her voice is too soft for my taste. I'm curious how far can she go on this show with her obvious lack of Korean.

I've always loved Dia, and I love that she's not afraid to keep trying out new things that will get her and her band more exposure. I really wish that the Voice could have helped her more tho, I love her solo album. Now I need to find my M&D albums wherever they are

Lately she's been taking acting classes and auditioning for roles the last two years, so it really threw me for a loop that she auditioned for ssk. And then she has her music project Archis which just released in February this year, so that too also confused me.

Its nice to see her trying again. I don't know how far she will go, considering her Korean is super limited but I'm rooting for her anyways :D
