I liked the second group of girls more than the first bunch. Im assuming Trudy clarified that she mixed in her rap (?) but i cant get over how much she reminds me of Yoon Mirae.
Gilme was really good and so was KittiB I felt let down by Ash-B but maybe the show will show me more. Yubin was actually good and imo better than Hyorin, the yg girl was alright i guess, there are others that i liked and some were pretty forgettable (Kasper) but I can't remember their names plus they dyed their hair since the teasers.
I'm not wowed away by anyones performance tbh so I guess i'll have to wait until it comes out.

So Truedy just doesn't look like Yoon Mirae but she sounds similar too. And not sure why, but it annoys me. Yezi is the superior idol rapper. I didn't like Yubin or Hyorin, at all (and I say this as a fan of both). I like Heize more in her teaser than here. A lot of them lacked energy. Here for the ones in the middle: Gilme, Ahn Soo Min, Yezi and KiitiB.
I had to watch it twice , haha. I've liked Gilme for a while, so I hope she gets recognition. I love FIEStAR and Yezi, I hope she brings it. She usually has a lot of charisma on stage. Kitti B seems strong as well,
They all sound (almost) the same, it's like they all have the same rap coach :/ I'm not sure how the judges are supposed to rank them when they're nearly all using practically the same style. It's just going to be a stage presence/looks/popularity contest.
Hyolyn did great ? the whole performance was a mess though, they werent working together so it wasnt really a group performance, more like the girls trying to show what they got but ... in a really crowded way.

ASM has no flow. KittiB was actually good. Sua bb girl your voice is not for rap at least not yet and you need to learn how to control it. Your flow needs more work too. I like Kasper's voice a lot, idky, but it makes up for her lack of stage presence. Hyorin wasn't as out of place as I was expecting, but it sounds like she's forcing her voice to sound more hephap so it's unnatural. KiitiB...I know Omona seems to love her, and maybe it's because I haven't heard stuff from her, but just going off the teasers and this, I don't like her. Her voice is really annoying to me, and I don't like her flow. She was okay here, but I still don't understand why Yubin is on this shpw. Predebut vids of her showed her rapping as okay, but I feel like years of doing watered down idol rap took its toll. Personally, I think her delivery is awful, she raps like there's a cotton ball in her mouth i.e. I can't make out what she's saying, which is funny because she's rapping about her lyrics being easy to hear, and her voice kept cracking. Truedy reminds me too much of Yoon Mirae and I'm left wondering if this is on purpose. If so, then nuh-uh girl. I also can't tell from her lyrics if she's mixed-race, or just a Korean with a deeper skintone. Overall, a lot of the women seem to have issues with keeping on the beat and lyric delivery, which seems to happen a lot with people who aren't used to performing on a recorded stage, hence why the "mainstream" women sound better. I've been rooting for Gilme since I heard she was cast, and I'm excited for Yezi, Kasper, and Sua too.

What do people go off of to determine who is good or not in Korean hip hop? The posturing, flow, lyrics? Wordplay is hard to catch and things are always lost in translation, so I'm curious.
I go by flow and lyrics. I usually wait to see if I like someone's lyrics as well. If they get translated. If they don't, I enjoy things in a more superficial way lol.
to some of y'all that keep questioning why hyorin is on the show: she's literally stated (more than once iirc) that rap is something she's always wanted to try. she's written her own hip hop tracks but her company rejected them every time bc they didn't like that direction for sistar or her solo career. the only way they even agreed for her to rap was in this show.
