New JYPE Boy Group DAY6 to Debut in September?

JYP Entertainment‘s newest boy group DAY6 (previously known as 5LIVE) may be finally making a debut in less than a month!

An Instagram posted by Yongwoon Kim, a sound engineer at JYP Entertainment, has been making its rounds around the Internet and has caused a stir for what may be DAY6′s official debut live stage.

Yongwoon Kim uploaded details of DAY6′s upcoming performance at Rolling Hall in Seoul, which will be held on September 11 at 8 p.m., KST. The caption reads, “DAY6 Debut Live!! 9/11 Rolling Hall. PM8:00 #JYP #day6 #debut.”

This won’t be DAY6′s first performance as a group. The six-member boy band has been performing at venues in Seoul in order to build experience prior to their debut.

The fact that they are a band and not a typical k pop boy group that dances etc is quite experimental on JYP's part. Maybe that's why there's not more hype?
Anyway, they sound great live and I am prepared to stan and you should be too!

Nope. They plan was for them to debut close together. It actually seems further apart than what JYPE originally planned.

It's supposed to be how 2AM and 2PM debuted months apart with opposite concepts.

It feels like GOT7 has been around much longer. I guess it's because they debuted right at the start of 2014 so it's more than a year and a half now...
But I don't think that'll be any conflict as one is a normal idol group and the other is a band. They probably won't even appeal to the same people.

I'm excited for this debut because I'm going to need someone to stan while 2PM goes to the army, even if it's not for a few years. They all seem like a bunch of good kids and have good chemistry with each other. Little Chicken is my favorite.

I wonder if they'll debut under the JYP Entertainment label or the Studio J label since, like you said OP, it's very experimental on JYPE's part and I've seen posts of the boys in the studio writing music.

Jimin's solo was also through that label. I backtracked and looked up the release about Studio J and they said that "...rather than appealing to the mainstream we hope to showcase free and deep artists." Either way, I'm excited. I've been watching a few of the fan cams.

Ahhh! So good! I love that these showcases and music festivals aren't only giving them experience but giving them the opportunity to build a fan base as well.

Are they debuting in September cause Ikon is? JYP's and YHS's rivalry is weird. Anyway, I'm really excited for them. I didn't expect that we'd have to wait this long for them. I thought they'd have debuted a lot sooner. I really like what was posted above for them. Can't wait to see what they're like once they actually debut.

Super excited because they seem like a bunch of really talented and equally sweet young men! Jae and Brian already have a great rapport with fans.

I like that JYPE is experimenting with his groups rather than just sticking with one concept, it gives the idols the opportunity to find a color that suits them.
