Model offended by CL comparison, Blackjacks flip out, CL throws shade(?)

Model Kim Jin Kyung is under heavy criticism for looking offended after being told she resembles 2NE1’s CL on My Little Television.

On the latest episode of My Little Television, a live TV program, Kim Jin Kyung allegedly reacts negatively after the MC tells her, “some people say you look like CL.”

She responds by asking the host “what are you doing?” which is getting mixed feedbacks from netizens and fans.

The original title on the Youtube video was “The Real Reaction Girls Give If You Tell Them They Look Like CL” but we also have found a video with subtitles.

Translation:

somebodyloves_u: “No matter if you really think CL is ugly or not and whoever your talking about, wasn’t your actions clearly with no thinking..? This is not a chat between your friends but in a program hahahahahaha”

somebodyloves_u: “And have you ever met CL.. Or have you seen a picture of her on Instagram; I think CL’s appeal is something unique that can’t be seen from you. Everyone has their own unique appeals… How can you say crap like that.. It was something that not only show your thoughtless actions towards CL but making her fans mad ^^..”

Earlier, model Kim Jin Kyung was accused of acting rude towards CL when she appeared disturbed or mad to hear that she looked like artist CL. After the video went viral, her Instagram was flooded with malicious comments from both Korean and international Blackjacks and fans of CL.

Although many fans stood up to defend Kim Jin Kyung, saying that it was her personal decision to not want to look like CL, Blackjacks flooded online pages with death threats and insults.

Since then, the model has issued an official apology.

“Hello. This is Kim Jin Kyung.
Regarding 2NE1 member CL, I wanted to bravely apologize for my thoughtless actions.

I think my rude and thoughtless actions towards when CL was mentioned made both her and her fans uncomfortable. I sincerely apologize.

I also apologize that I disappointed all of my fans who supported me during this incident.

I’ll try to become a Kim Jin Kyung that acts more carefully.

However, after her apology was announced public, many netizens claimed that she did not need to do such a thing and criticized Blackjacks for flooding her page. Netizens claimed that by making this a bigger deal, it just made the relationship between model Kim Jin Kyung and CL more uncomfortable.

Netizen and stans' responses are so over the top. It's annoying getting compared to someone; especially if you're not particularly fond of that person. Yeah it was rude, but it wasn't on purpose. The fact that she made sure to say "I love CL, but honestly..." like c'mon, you could tell exactly why she reacted the way she did. Had her reaction been "rme ugh, ppl always say that but idt so..." then I would think the reaction from fans would be a bit diff (maybe not tho). She doesn't have to find CL attractive, but how's about not acting like the comparison is an insult on live broadcast. The reaction from stans isn't surprisin, but you cand definitely tell she was flustered by the statement.

Meh. CL reacted like a proud af 24 year old starlette. Typical. Her shade's got nothing on Rihanna's, at least hers is entertaining. The model was caught off guard which is exactly the reaction the host wanted by bringing it up. SMH at the mess in these comments acting like the girls wasn't actually being rude af.

Not wanting to be compared to someone/anyone because you want to have your own identity is perfectly fine, and there are ways of expressing that without looking like you want to slap the person doing the comparing at that moment. But we all know she wasn't pissed because she "doesn't want to be compared to anyone" she was pissed because it's CL who is known in Korea as not only as unattractive but ugly.

The reaction she had a few seconds before where she acts all fake modest shy with "omg I'm not really" when the guy told her she's pretty and the reaction she had after he dropped CL's name say it all. Also the backpaddling she did after she remembered she's on live TV.

CL was compared to Jung Juri and Juri even apologized to her and CL not only said "it's ok and it's an honor" but went and complimented the woman. That's how you handle these situations.

I'm happy Chaerin clapped back at least a little, If I were her and received so much hate and disrespect from teenage years by the people in my own country just because I don't fit their views of beauty, I'd be telling them all to fuck off on daily basis. She so strong and I love her for it. There's only so much a person can take.

To see people here defend this type of behavior.....if it were any other type of situation I'd maybe understand, or I'd be numb to it, I'm used to omona not giving shit about CL, but to see a community filled with females who advocate shit 24/7 defend this...

All of this, however, doesn't justify some "fans" going to said "model's" IG and leaving some awful comments. Even if you're a fan with best intentions, this is not the way.
