I saw videos of the blast and it was horrific, I've never seen anything like it.
Tao had concerts scheduled in Shanghai and Guangzhou which he cancelled.He's legally obligated to go through with the Beijing one so he's donating all proceeds to Tianjin relief

Yeah, the videos were everywhere on Twitter. The blast was absolutely horrendous. Those poor people who died and their families whom they'd left behind. I hope their souls rest in peace and that the injured receive all the help needed to get well as quickly as possible.

Yoochun canceled his Sina fan event too. I think they'll do it just before he enlists at the end of August.

i couldn't sleep the whole night, it was so scary... and then the next morning a couple was stabbed in an attack in sanlitun, beijing. the attacker was carrying a huge sword/katana and no one was stopping him at all. i've never felt so unsafe in china :(

my heart goes to all of those affected by the explosion. all of my friends in tianjin are still so frightened because of the chemicals released into the air... the government really needs to get it together.

From the articles I've read, the explosions happened at a warehouse that stored hazardous materials. No clear answer yet on how exactly the blasts happened, but it's awful that the industrial site was built so close to residential areas. Residents whose homes were destroyed have been forced to live in temporary shelters, and all residents within a 2-mile radius of the blast site have been evacuated after a toxic chemical, sodium cyanide, was detected in the area.

This is so heartbreaking! Tbh I don't think anyone at all can know what they must be have been feeling like. My aunt and uncle passed away during the Bam earthquake in 2003 with my cousin surviving and even now he still talks about how traumatic it was and how much of a panic people around him were in. I pray for all those who were involved with this.

This is so scary. It reminds me of AZF. Although it wasn't on as big a scale it was also devastating and terrifying.
I live in a neighboring city of Toulouse where the AZF factory explosion happened and both my parents worked really close to it (like less than a km). I remember I was at home and I heard it from there (though I didn't know what it was at the time). It was only 10 days after 9/11 so my parents told me that people thought something had crashed on them. Because the phone lines were going crazy from people calling each other to see if they're ok, when my mom was finally able to reach me only I could here her but she couldn't and we couldn't contact our relatives till late evening.
It was insane. Even in my city lots of windows had shattered. I was at home instead of school because I'd twisted my ankle and had an appointment for a x-ray at my very local radiology office and when I went it was so crowded with people who had been injured and had to come all the way there for x-rays. I remember a student at the Mirail University (which is really close to AZF as well) kept fainting from the trauma and it really shocked me.
Since it was a chemical factory there were a lot of worries over that as well and actually it's still unknown what the consequences will be in the long run.

My condolences to everyone and I hope that the government will offer all the support possible to anyone involved with this, physical, mental and financial.

Thank you for your comment. I just read about the AZF explosion. The blast was tremendous as well, apparently equal to 20-40 tons of TNT. Your parents must have been so worried about you, and vice versa. I can only imagine how terrified everyone must have been, especially since as you said it happened only 10 days after the 9/11 attacks.

this is so sad and terrifying, especially when you see the videos of the explosions. there's one filmed from a very short distance and you can tell the person didn't make it, it's just mind-numbing to sit there and experience their last moments. i'm praying for everyone affected & hope the government will be honest and not put more of their citizens at risk. i really doubt their air safety claims and official death toll numbers but i don't think we'd ever know for sure if it's in the hundreds or even thousands :/
