Synopsis:
When a serial killer strikes women who all have a similar appearance, the police department’s Special Crime Investigation Team is stumped. While Cha Ji An (Jang Na Ra), an elite detective, and her fellow colleagues are assessing the latest crime scene, the mysterious Lee Hyun (Seo In Guk) shows up and instantly assesses the trademark attributes of the killer. Hyun is a genius criminal profiler with a degree in criminal psychology who received an anonymous email that brought him to the crime scene all the way from the United States. The serial killer seems to be sending a personal message to Hyun with the clues he leaves behind, and Hyun wonders if it could be related to an escaped criminal “monster” from his childhood who killed his father and was responsible for the disappearance of his younger brother. Ji An has known Hyun since childhood and is ecstatic to see her childhood crush again, but Hyun doesn’t seem to remember her. With no leads to capture the serial killer, Ji An and her colleagues solicit Hyun’s help. Can Hyun and Ji An solve the case and find answers to their pasts? “I Remember You” is a 2015 South Korean drama series directed by No Sang Hoon.

Date: 2015-08-12 07:31 pm (UTC)NOTHING HAPPENED except Hyun and Jiahn finally hooked up after like 20 years lol. If they were going to end this as a happy OTP drama, they should have focused on romance more.
What was the point of the last 5 episodes? See how many cops can know about a killer and not even attempt to bring him in for questioning???!!!
who PITIES the man that ruined your life? If the writers were going to humanize~ LJY they could have had Hyun deal with the hard truth that his father was an abusive fuck up. But noooo lets spend half an episode showing how Hyun is also a killer...and then act like nothing~ happened.
Sigh. I would be okay with this crap finale if I knew there was going to be a season 2, but SIG is going to the army.
Re: this is bullshit
Date: 2015-08-12 07:40 pm (UTC)I understand why they couldn't arrest JoonYoung since they had no evidence/bodies or even proof of his identity but it does make for an unsatisfying ending to a crime drama
Re: this is bullshit
Date: 2015-08-12 07:50 pm (UTC)yeah, they literally have no way to prove that ME is JY since the fingerprints are gone and as far as I know, that was the only thing they had against him

I was screaming and yelling while watching, I'm scared of knives so all the stabbing freaks me out. WTF happened with Min? Did he run away with JoonYoung or did he go to confess his crimes so he can be around Hyun?
and I'm sorry but I love Min and JoonYoung, they were creepy and scary in every single scene and only killed child abusers or in self defense, my favorite villains
Did they ever show/explain the entire convo between baby Hyun and JoonYoung? was it just that Min was a psychopath, Hyun's dad thought he was a monster, and JoonYoung saying he wanted to see Hyun when he grew up?
Hyun is such an awkward creepy weirdo in a sexy package. How could he disappear for 3 years! And was he with Min the entire time or was he searching for Min and JoonYoung?

Date: 2015-08-12 07:44 pm (UTC)The ending is so open so I have no idea what Min is eventually going to do. He got an envelope to change his identity but he left it on his bed so I think he's not going to run away anymore? idek, the ending confused me

Date: 2015-08-13 02:02 am (UTC)I was confused if Min was in a hospital for an entire year. Then I thought maybe it was a mental hospital and then I thought who's to say it was a year before Min was found etc etc
I wasn't sure if the envelope on the bed meant Min was taking up the identity change or if he was saying No. His smiling face when he was leaving the hospital could mean so many things.
Honestly though, even if Min turned himself in, how could he or they prove that he killed anyone without actual bodies or murder scenes? All they would find is missing people and one guy's word that he was getting crates with bodies and they were being dumped into the ocean by someone else and that the person on the phone sounded like Min but he couldn't confirm or deny.
Either way. I still loved this show and have no idea what I'm going to watch now.
Good drama, but a shitty "happy ever after" ending
Date: 2015-08-12 07:59 pm (UTC)Really, I would have preferred that the whole team chased (even after 2-3 years) and finally capture that psycho and put him behind bars. But, no, they wasted 19 1/2 episodes of people chasing and solving puzzles and whatever only to let him go at the last moment?

Date: 2015-08-12 08:24 pm (UTC)Honestly they had no evidence and no bodies so Joon Young and Min could walk away...but Ji An and Hyun will catch him...especially since Min is choosing to turn himself in
Remember they only caught Joon Young the first time by falsifying evidence at another crime to implicate him (which it looks like they used to do pretty often smh)
Ji An was the reckless one trying to get a recorded confession or daring him to murder her so they could build a case that way...wilding out

Date: 2015-08-12 09:29 pm (UTC)Basically. the stalker got the hot guy. The 2 killers got away and were allowed to. The other killer still has a best friend after slicing their higher up. And worst of all, that crazy lady who goes around just smacking people in the back of the head is still loose, lol.
The ending wasn't terrible, but it wasn't anything?, in my opinion. I did make a strangled cry when I saw Min, but that's separate, lol. This show started with SO much potential. I mean if I said yes when Killer Soo asked if Min wanted to go with ahjussi, and I would feel things when Min pouted or smiled (Bo Gummie pls), you had an award winning show, lol.
Joking aside, there was a chance to play with people's feelings of conflict here and the writers did it a little bit, but not as much as they could have. I didn't empathize much with LJY, though there was a back story and opportunity for it to happen.

not feeling bad for Min was often very hard indeed

Date: 2015-08-13 01:47 am (UTC)Things I disliked about the drama :
So unlike most people, I did not think Min was cute (the actor is cute but the character is not) and I didn't pity him, he killed people, and showed no remorse over it. So his scenes with Hyun left me cold because I couldn't enjoy the bromance knowing Hyun was covering for his Brother's crimes.
When I saw that Min was still alive, I was glad he was in a mental(?) clinic getting help , but then Hyun disappointed me because he was trusting that woman who helps LJY, AND gave the chance for Min walk free with a new id, even though he knows Min killed people and was dangerous. I was like wth. I get he is your brother but no, just no.
Hyun is not a killer, it was Legitimate defense, and what a stupid cop and father would leave a gun around kids.
The other thing that disappointed me was: Hyun thinking he is that great to leave LJY free every freaking time. If he really wanted he could arrest him, but no - he just had talks with the man who murdered his father, CJA's father and other people. When Hyun could, he did not arrest LJY, he let LJY go away because he also had to arrest Min.
He decided he'll catch LJY one day, after giving Min a new start. But while he plays hide and seek with LJY, LJY might kill more people.
I loved the kiss, but it was a bit random, he should kiss her before disappearing...

Date: 2015-08-13 01:56 am (UTC)Her character was so great, not a useless cop like most of dramas, she was really smart, and she fought with all she could, even though it was a lost fight against her opponents who were much more stronger.
Also CJA was pacient and understood Hyun well. I really liked it. She also kissed first hah!
About her being careless about facing LJY, well could you help it? The guy killed her father and was provoking her.

Date: 2015-08-13 02:35 pm (UTC)As for Hyun leaving the envelope for Min, I sort of saw it as him thinking that if he really wanted to change his brother, it had to start with Min willingly turning himself in (i.e. accepting that the murders he committed were bad, even with the good intentions, and he has to receive punishment for them). Otherwise, if he just put him in jail, Min would be punished but would never truly see why he deserved punishment in the first place.
And I waited SO LONG for the kiss to happen, but ended up getting warmer fuzzier feelings from when their arms were smacking against each other on their walk and Hyun took her hand lol
