although i really liked their jams, i really fell in love with snsd while watching hello baby. i was like, there is literally not a bad one in the bunch. ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿ visual dreams is my favorite mv, but nobody else really seems to care about it??

:( same. A part of me wanted OT9 to be real and forever - probably cuz I'd like to believe they're at least somewhat friends with each other... The more grown up part of me says people change/drift apart/have different goals and as long as everyone is doing well and happy it's more than I can ask for.


Still hoping for like a 15 year reunion down the line where they can at least meet or talk to each other publicly :x

Wow time really does fly. It was back in high school that I started following them (and kpop in general) after watching their hilarious variety shows. I kind of fell off the kpop bandwagon in undergrad but I always kept an eye out for Soshi news. I was surprised how upset I was/am about the Jessica thing but I suppose that's what happens when you grow up with something and it kind of changes or falls apart in a way you never imagined. I feel like the letter posted by Soshified sums up a lot of how I feel about Soshi and Jessica fairly eloquently. I think I'll always be on the watch for Soshi + Sica news until they leave the public eye. I can't believe I started following them in HS and now I'm a year away from getting a Master's...

Happy 8th anniversary! I think ya'll have dug a snug little hole in a corner of my heart :')

I started following them in high school as well... during Kissing You era. And here I am 7+ years later, don't really care about kpop as much as I used to but I'm positive I'll always look out for Soshi and Jessica news. I've never been in a fandom for this long, those 9 girls are truly special to me. That soshified letter had me crying, heh. I hope all nine will continue doing well and be happy.

I love that ITNW is charting. There are so many Girls' Generation song/concepts that I like but I think Into The New World is still my all time favorite. I don't think there has ever been a debut song so perfect.

i first discovered snsd in college, back when i thought going on 4chan made you a cool and tough dude. /v/ put that winston churchill baby picture as the background and what was autoplaying but none other than gee... i was like, "what... the fuck... is this..." but i kept pulling up /v/ and leaving it in another tab so i could listen to this utterly bizarre but totally addictive song. then i started thinking about gee all the time, humming it on the way to classes, going, "gee gee gee gee baby baby baby" under my breath; it was clear this was a Situation but i didn't even know what it was called, just that the letter g seemed to feature heavily, so i looked up "g g g g g" on youtube and found it.

i tried to deny it for a couple of years but i did get as far as trying to find out how i could buy albums on itunes before i stopped myself. but then after jessicagate, i don't know, something snapped inside me, like there might not be much time left with this so i might as well enjoy what i can while i still can, and i jumped headfirst into the deep dark sone hole. sigh.

I'm not a fan but I always catch myself watching their appearances on variety/reality shows. They're fun and entertaining to watch.

Such a bittersweet anniversary... T^T

These fools...love them or hate them, you can't deny that they're as succesful as a lot of us would want to be; they started from scratch and with a lot of hate directed to them and a lot of odds against them, but still, they overcome every obstacle and came out on top. A true inspiration since the time I discovered them when I was 18 up till now and to many, many others.

I'm happy I got to know about them.

I've been with them since day 1, waiting for their debut was my favorite moment, idk if that makes sense tho. I remember dancing to itnw in my bathroom lol and to this day I still remember the entire thing. I'm proud of them and they'll always be my 2nd favorite group ever

ITNW was the most perfect debut. I have chills, this live is so good, the dance is so energetic. The version they made at Tokyo Dome made me cry like a baby. I looked it up yesterday and... yeah.

I discovered them with Gee/Genie when I got into k-pop around 2008, but it took me some time to like them. Genie was my jam (who doesn't like it?) but the rest seemed too cute for me. The First Japanese Album totally blew me away (first k/j-album that I've bought) and I re-discovered their first album while, this time, enjoying the cute as well. The great thing is that I've haven't catched up with all the variety yet (only the basics!) so I still have a lot to do.
The biggest surprise was IGAB. Wasn't it just after new year's eve? I remember being pissed and trying to make sense of this mess, while trying to wake up that day, then slowly jamming to it lol. I think IGAB lasts better than the Boys now.
I couldn't listen to them for months after the Jessigate and realised then the huge place they had taken in my life - i was listening to them at least once a day lol, there is always a song for each feeling and moment of life. Well I'm weak because I'm back to listening them and liked Party/Check, and even CMIYC lol.

I hope the 9 of them will keep finding success in what ever they're up to, and happiness as well. Sure it could have turned different (and I'm really sad they couldn't follow the initial plan with Jessica being in hiatus, which is basically the same thing without hurt feelings) but it hasn't... so. Moving on. Let's see how the next album turned out to be, and when I'll get money to buy me some B&E!

I've vaguely followed them since Run Devil Run, and probs my fave moment was when Jessica got the boot because for the first time ever I actually found them personally interesting. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I still don't know who most of them are (doesn't help their faces keep morphing) but they got some solid jams. Genie is permanently stuck in my fucking head to the point i've made up all my own japanese lyrics because it's necessary.

i still remember the first time i was introduced to them, it was genie era and i was disturbed at how sexy they were (to me back then, the pure pure me, it was pretty sexy) and it was until rdr that i fall in love. i never look away after that lol.
anyway, while its sad that theyre no longer 9 i hope they reconcile and at least keep in touch because i would really like to believe the bond is real and is forever (eventhough its pretty naive to think so).
and oh my favourite moment would be their 1st concert. i still watch the dvd although less often now since i get sad over ot9....

There are other groups with better songs/voices, but no group has this combination of personalities. It honestly feels like we've been on the journey with them, and while Jessica being kicked out really hurts, it doesn't change the way I feel about all 9 of them. They gave me Genie and RDR, enough said.

I got into them pretty late actually, I was always more of a Brown Eyed Girls and solo artist fan and only a casual kpop listener (I'd liked the Oh! album, but didn't really do much with it) so it actually wasn't until IGAB happened that I actually paid attention. I know people hate that song, but they're wrong because it's amazing. Before that, I only thought they were funny because I watched Running Man. It was nice to connect that variety personalities with their actual music. They have some amazing ballads (Byul, Byul, Byul, and Forever?)

congrats to the girls on their 8 years! its been such a journey for them. this has been practically their whole life. i can't believe its been so long already. my fave girl group! i was a silly one thinking (still hoping) that they are all friends to some degree, i believe in that soshi bond. i wish them all the best of luck and happiness in what they do.

seeing jessica in all these videos is making me nostalgic as hell, I can't deal. Especially with the suspicion that Sooyoung's #missyou was for Jessica TT OT8 just doesn't feel complete to me, especially during variety. Jessica was always one of their punching bags, which i miss so much. Now that she left, and fans know that there was obvious discord it's hard to love them the same way imo. it just doesn't feel the same. Even channel soshi feels kind of awkward to me

that aside, omg their Genie Madison square garden performance is literal perfection. The Boy's era styling and hair was my absolute favorite and that's when they really proved to me that they were maturing so beautifully and becoming the Queens of Kpop. <3

I've always been in and out with Kpop in these last few years especially since most of my faves have stopped promoting as much but Soshi has always been my consistent fave, I hope they have a happy ending.

I feel you on the Channel Soshi being awkward. I remember watching episode 2 and they had that quiz where they watched back old fragments and such and (this might just be me though) it seemed like they desperately zoomed/cropped the fragments to not show Sica in a single one of them.
