In sad news, it has been reported that rock band Broken Valentine‘s lead vocalist Van (Kim Kyung Mi, 33) recently passed away.
The band relayed the news to fans through their SNS accounts on August 4th, writing, “We are reporting some sudden and heartbreaking news. Broken Valentine’s vocal Van, who has been with us for over 13 years, has unexpectedly left us due to an accident”
According to the band’s agency, Van was enjoying time with friends in the water when he unexpectedly drowned.

The wake will occur in Funeral Hall Room 2 at Dongsuwon Hospital while the funeral will take place on August 5th at 10am KST.
Broken Valentine released their first official single Alien in 2005, gaining even more fans after their appearance on KBS 2TV‘s band survival show Top Band Season 1. In 2009, they won the ‘Best Composition Award’ at the 11th annual Asian Beat Grand Final.
